really? there are people supposedly helping me out, who are trying to get into the hotmail account? how annoying. don't know what to do to discourage them other than to ask them not to, which I've already done... grrrr. I wonder if they're after my voicemail, too. My telcom provider keeps locking me out of the system for failed passcode attempts. double grrrr. -d.

Some members of the group that is trying to help you cant seem to understand that hacking hotmail is not a good idea.

In games of this magnitude, it's really really recommended that the players establish that a particular site is in-game before attempting to interact with it in any substantial way, and even then, it's not a free-for-all.

Hotmail.com has NOT been established as in-game. There have been numerous other discussions about attempting to get into that e-mail account - please, use the search tool to read those discussions to understand why.

Thank you so much. Smile

Adding Aunt M's ID as an MSN contact couldn't possibly hurt, though, you're right. Smile

I apologize in advance for this...

Ok, I typically would not do this, but I just wanted to see if it was "too easy" to dissmiss as off-game. I went to gmail and tried to get into danatwing's email. You can't get in easily, and (THEREFORE DO NOT CONTINUE TO TRY), and I can only assume that this is then not part of the game, to be into that email account. The only interesting thing about it, is when you "forget your password," you get a message saying that the password has been sent to the "Yahoo" account.

So Yahoo, Hotmail and G-mail... that's sure not leaving out much... This isn't a new spec, or even a trouty one... Just interesting how broadly the infrastructure is spread. That is all.

SO AGAIN, just to re-iterate, this is NOT an invitation to hack email... i was trying the public ways to do it (no programs, whatever,) and that was it... I tried maybe 5 times with ilovebees related password possibilities, to see if it was one of those obvious "open-door" situations. IT WASN'T. DON'T HACK IT! I was testing a theory, and now only posting the results of that theory to let everyone else who's thinking about it know NOT to try it. Please don't prove yourself ignorant by going the opposite way... Thanks!

twing is kind of her signature word, just something she likes to say and likes the sound of (like bungie's "blam")

There is an explanation for the "twing" part given here:

Twing explanation

Ok, I just said, I tried, and that's it... don't try to hack the G-mail account.. Obviously the G-mail account is not "easy" enough to figure out with the current clues, and is therefore off-limits. Anyways, as far as the Twing stuff goes, Dana says that she got the word from Larry Niven, who states it is a netting of sorts, for use in space, for tethering things down. (And yes, the Bungie cord point has already been made.)
