The OP's lack of naming or linking the post and/or forums is disturbing, to the point I wonder whether it exists or not.

Secondly, I wonder how on earth the OP got two monsters from that line. Seeing how that line has very little relevance to the monster, or the movie itself, let alone any references to good and evil. Its an unfounded theory.

Thirdly, how does "No comment Very Happy " (I assume by 'with a smile' you meant a smiley) constitute to your theory being right?

Fourthly, when the 'insider' posts "What I can say about the movie is the pictures posted here are wrong", what pictures are he referring too? Unless im missing something, this line makes no sense.

Fifthly, the 'insider' posts no information on the movie at all, essentially all opinions that cannot be proven wrong later. And all posts like someone who has little knowledge of the movie at all, particularly the music remark, as most people that have followed the movie know its been done with a hand held video camera and is unlikely to contain any music. It appears more of a generic comment, like the rest of it. Frankly, the post could be made about any movie.

A note about things in general: Why, when someone puts forward 'evidence' of someone having inside knowledge, they always portray them as someone who has little to no interest in the movie. Frankly, I would have though one of the many cloverfielders working in cinemas and movie disturibution on here would probably end up seeing the movie before someone who has "no real interest in the movie". Its obviously an attempt to make the source seem unbiased.

So all in all, I think the thread is a bunch of bolony.

Sorry for being harsh, but I didnt want to sugar coat anything.

The only reason the OP is saying there could be two monsters, is because this person, whoever he/she is, posted saying that there would be a twist.

Now, that twist could be anything, of course, but the OP's theory was that there was going to be two monsters.

Don't get me wrong, I'm dubious about all the "my friend/aquantencefromanothermessageboard" type posts. I'm pointing out that just because the "reviewer" mentioned the music is awesome doesn't mean that it's total crap.

Cloverfield not having a soundtrack != "no can has musics"

I'll now quote the most important part of the "review"

The music in the movie is awesome, its nice to see a mainstream moive paying attention to music.

The only music in the movie will probably be what's heard at the party, and if there happens to be a radio playing in a car or building they run past. We're only going to hear faint, short clips of songs. Ever hear music that's in the background of home movies? No bass, kinda shrill.

Don't see how that would qualify as "awesome" or even really important to the movie.

Btw, a few posts down from quoted and above mine is a better list of debunkery

Another thought -

Watching the trailer there is the scene with the Woman being held/attacked by the two in protective suits. expands and appears to be expanding or possibly blowing up. There is enough evidence that some form of infection, plague, disease is spreading wildly in Manhattan on top of the Monster attack.

We have the Targ Oil Rig potentially knocked out by Monster. We have the tanker in NYC harbor. There is a thought that the big explosion would be the monster throwing the oil tanker sparking the explosion seen from the rooftop by Rob and friends.

My thought is maybe there is something ELSE on that oil tanker BESIDE oil that appears to be agitating the Monster?

I have seen some Slusho conjecture but far more interested in the work Subsidiary Yoshida Medical Research was doing. They were doing all sorts of research on expanding and growing molecules etc. Is it possible they had a breakthrough find and were for some reason trying to get it to NYC? Something the Monster did not want to go anywhere? I mean oil tankers are everywhere, and why the wrath and anger was inflicted on this tanker makes me question the true manifest.

And also the potential that whatever was blown up and dispersed into Manhattan might be causing the outbreaks.

Just a different angle trying to explain things right after Monster attack.

Well, we have somewhat of a confirmation of smaller monsters (in the commercial where people are shouting, "Bite! We have a bite!" as well as the picture of Rob and Beth holding a door shut") so maybe the tanker is holding smaller monsters or something. Possibly the monsters 'babies' or something.

Yes - and all the slash marks on bodies in various pictures lends more credence that maybe it is smaller monsters that are in play. Is it a thought that these infected people morph into these smaller monsters? A monster zombie like effect? I'm new to all this -

Well, that is a theory, but I don't think people morph into the monsters or produce them. I just think the small monsters go around and make people explode by biting them.

Am I the only one that thinks that if the OP and their friend aren't FOS, that the person that's supposed to have seen the movie actually saw that horrid Monster or whatever Asylum is putting out? Could they have it confused?

Bro, I am not trying to lie to you. I will post everything this guy has to say.

I shall be seeing this tomorrow morning... But, per my work, i cannot disclose any details of the movie to you guys :p

Woot! leave in 35 min to see this beast!

Ok, here is an update, What I can say about the movie is the pictures posted here are wrong. The movie does have an ending, it doesnt stop in the middle and leave you hanging ala Lost style. The music in the movie is awesome, its nice to see a mainstream moive paying attention to music. The movie was entertaining all the way through. Oh yeah, Hot chick in it!

Beyond that, I cannot say to much more about it. There should be some previews of it the night before it opens, beyond that, opening weekend

Well, where i work wouldnt be too happy that i gave away key plot detials for movies that they are promoting. And today, i did have to have everyone who attended the screening called in and verified that they could see it and read a disclaimer about revealing specific details of the movie to the general public rendering the promotions company's internet buzz advertising useless.

They are nice enough to pay me to work for them and i get to see movies in advance, so i wont shit where i ea
t

Well the only movies i would pay to see lately was Harry Potter 5 and Transformers, but this movie i would give strong consideration to paying for Smile(Wouldnt pay to see superbad, but that was freaking halarious) And i would give it a thumbs up, other then the camera angles / movement get annoying at times (like transformers with BAM HERE IT IS) but other then that, it was definitely enjoyable.

IMHO, the Godzilla movie that came out here that when he came to NY sucked balls, Godzilla doesnt die to freaking missles when cought in a bridge! he fucks that bridge up and then kills them choppers! I loved Godzilla 2000, which was released here, but that is the last one i have seen

Holy shit i didnt realize that there were 3 more now! I freaking love Godzilla, i personally beleive that Godzilla >>> then any other monster in a monster movie, Fuck AvP, Godzilla would own both them fuckers.

I guess, the reason I have been so weary about this board is how mean spirted everyone is. This is the internet. This guy didn't make shit up. He saw the movie, doesn't want to lose his job, simple enough. Trust ME the guy saw the movie.

This is the reason movies suck these days, no one wants to be surprised or shocked. It's all about "I told you so!"

Eh.. not being mean, just doesn't make sense. Put it this way. There are many movies that attempt to make soundtracks that are solid. Apparently this one REALLY tried and succeeded. However.. it is unlikely to have music at all. So um.. what gives? We don't know that he didn't lie to you, or that you are not just making this all up. Trust you? Why? Laughing

I too thought there was perhaps a clue in the baseball team story, but absolutely nothing else has pointed towards these animals. It's a sea animal, that much is clear. Or (hopefully not) a an alien who can survive in the ocean. Most people do not equate lions and dragons with the ocean.

I personally think he is full of bunk. Or you are. Razz
