I think the station was destroyed, but not in your typical style, crush and leave.

I think it was much more unorthodox. Also, I think the fact that both sides (Tagruato and TIDOWave) are both playing clueless, is meant to clue us in.

There was a station, and now it's gone.

I agree Cthulu, I think that the station was destroyed kind of like how some people destroy buildings to collect the insurance money..on their own lol. I think that someone was about to blow the doors off of their operation and they had to suck it up and destroy Chuai. Although if Seabeds Nectar is involved maybe they were trying to stop ol Grumps from following any kind of scent. But who knows?

Well, I don't think Tag's playing clueless. They've deliberately played down any mentioning of destruction, only referring to it as an altercation and blaming an eco-terrorist cell (presumably Tidowave). Tidowave's playing clueless, definitely, but not Tag. I think Tag knows more than they're letting on (as usual).

EDIT: Though I do like your extrapolation on the theory, goemon. It lends a lot more credence to the Tag knows more than they're saying possibility.

Playing clueless.
Also, I think the fact that the message at the Tagruato phone company mentioning relatives of Chuai workers is meant for this.

another random thought on Chuai's spontaneous destruction. If this has been said before I apologize! What if the stations are holding pens? Maybe there are a few MGP's and they were separated and sent to each of the stations, maybe ol MGP is making a long road trip to cross the USA to get to where his other buddies are being held?

So many theories, and two weeks to figure out which one is correct (if any). I still stand by the theory of the underwater Chuai station (I'm still loving that graphic, Lance!), and perhaps, even if it IS so far down, the underwater lab was separated from the upper section, which could have been destroyed by MGP, or Tag itself. It could be sealed off, but communications lost, because the upper section of the station was annihilated. People could be trapped down there, and it could be a self-contained underwater lab, since Bold Futura does specialize in cutting-edge technology regarding deep sea ventures. The folks down in the lab could have seen MGP rise from the deep, but was only able to sound the alert in time to seal them off from drowning, leaving the others up at the surface to become appetizers.

Also, SOMEONE had to alert the military about the coming attack, because they seem to be there WAITING for all hell to break loose (i don't think they knew what to expect exactly), especially the hazmat guys and their makeshift quarantine areas (still can't figure out how the infection plays out). Idk if the Tag tanker sent out a distress signal, or the Coast Guard, or even someone flying overhead, noticing some type of shenanigans going on the the Atlantic, and realizing that the trouble is heading toward NYC. Guess we'll have to wait and keep speculating.

If that's true, then the next closest station would be the Kaika station in the P.R. trench (NOT Keiko, which is off the coast of South America, and my daughter's name, so weird to see that). Wouldn't he go there to find his comrades? Unless, of course, he thought that the Tag tanker would lead him to the others. Then why wouldn't the others get out, too? Imagine if that were true - 14 holding pens around the world. They all get out. Good game, world, we're toast!

Oh, and goemon, LOVE your avatar! Especially that line - one of my favorites! GO TEAM VENTURE!

Haha! thats what I was thinking! imagine all kinds of MGP's wreaking havoc, JJ may have wanted to give the world many new monsters, not just one. re-invent the whole genre perhaps? I believe MGP is looking for friends, and maybe the lil monsters were just some kind of experiment who escaped from Chuai and hopped on ol' Grumps for a joyride?

Dontlookmyage, the submersible station theory's going down. According to the new footage (News Clips), we may never have an underwater base. Look at Chuai from the helicopter. It has completly no kinds of 'strings' UNLESS the top is designed to look like a regular rig... at least we can kill the 'no Chuai Station' theory now. And yeah, you're right. Kaika is the PS thrench.

 Tagruato.jp site?

Might be useless or just a cookie problem on my end but as I went to the Tagruato.jp site tonight there is no longer a picture of a whale breaching the surface. Just last night I remember scanning it to see if I could find any relations. And tonight it is gone....
(the picture was a top/down banner on the left side right below their red logo)

Updated "Headlines" on Tagruato website. Also posted on Chuai thread.

Quote:
Update:

There has been an altercation at the Chaui Station. Although details are limited at present time, be assured that Tagruato is taking every measure necessary to ensure the safety and well being of all staff and crew. Specialty teams have been deployed, and are working aggressively to restore harmony at the site.

The cause of the problem is currently being investigated, although it is suspected that an eco-terror cell is responsible for the disturbance.

We have top investigators on our side. Everything will be resolved shortly, and all problems will be fixed. If you have any questions, please contact us at +81-3-5403-6318 for further instructions.
