so anyone look at the spanish clip in the first 20 seconds and notice the shots fired from the oil rig into the water, and how the water looked around the oil rig?

Why do you have a picture of fish from "zybez"?

It's a trout...

Think this may be our friend Ganu Yoshida in the background? Then again it could be some other Japanese dude?

Now I'm not so sure if it's the boat. I'm now maybe 70% sure.

Has anyone talked about this already?

i think it was talked about in the first 10 pages here, not sure tho, i just remember seeing it in here, but more or less the consensus is its floating debris

My only argument with this is [and maybe i'm just having 'demon-hair syndrome' but:

When a vessel is sinking- debris doesn't float... It sinks with the ship
Anything around the sinking mass gets sucked under with it.
A bad, but true example can be found in the movie "Titanic" when the ship finally sinks and the main characters are swept up in the wake of it...

The "Sucking down thing" has been scientifically disproven. It doesn't happen. Titanic was just a movie. Debris does indeed float, for a time. Air pockets inside the structure would cause it to pop back up to the surface and float away a bit before it sinks. That's what you see in the video.

to me it looks like something very large & round-ish under the water moving quickly away from Chuai. At one point it even looks like it sticks above the water for a moment.

ETA: it's been stated on the past pages that the CGI isn't 'fantastic' and some things (like the water right around the station) aren't perfect.
So I guess my question is... why would they spend so much time making a HUGE moving ripple under the water, when a lot of the CGI isn't perfect, unless it meant something?
I'm not saying it's for SURE MGP, but I think it's a damn good possibility.

ohhh!! sorry, I just figured out what you were trying to point out several posts back...about the rescue boat being the black "dot or blob". Well, check the angle of the wreckage as the rescue boat clip shows it and compare to what it should look like from their angle if that is indeed the rescue boat. I think it's oil personally.

This reminds me of Loch Ness. Y'know..."It's a sea monster! No, it's a dinosaur! No, it's an f'ing log!"

explanation for the rocketing debris

I think I have an explanation for some of the debris firing back into the air. Has anyone ever taken a beach ball or other inflated (buoyant) object and submerged it forcefully then let go? it'll fire out of the water with pretty high velocity. Now, I understand that this probably wouldn't work for metal grating, but it does explain some of it as there were likely several highly buoyant items aboard the station that were pulled down with the station.

I see what your getting at but that only happens if the object has very light air mass or "has air" inside it.
