IMO, it doesn't look professional, and what you said about the memo doesn't make sense to me. I understand if the other videos had English memos, that the Japanese one would use the same memo, and use Japanese voiceover and subtitles. But the other videos have Japanese memos... Wouldn't they use the same memo so they wouldn't have to translate it?

Something doesn't seem right about Tagruato issuing Japanese press releases to the rest of the world, but an English press release to the Japanese news Confused

Also, having travelled , and being a news junkie, all of these actually do a great job of portraying each countries news coverage style, small differences, but really cool to see.

O/T: I knew I wouldn't be able to stay away. But why oh why am I stuck on dialup for the next 4 weeks? Sad

Russian and Japanese ones seem to show the whole image without cropping out the scrolling overlays from the other channels.
Both look legit to me, unless there's unwatermarked footage floating around somewhere.

Edited to add US one.

Not the best quality frame to use, but it's the easiest one I could get.

Yeah, I'm thinking they hired a studio from each country, it seems pretty authentic.

The Japanese vid's memo looks like it matches whichever one it was that shows the english memo (french vid?)
Definitely legit to me.

The memo is barely shown in other videos. I mean its far less pertinent on the non japanese videos. If not translated it is just a visual proof for the casual TV non jap speaking viewer.

i think japanese media could be caring more about what occured to a japanese company located outside their own country and involving several non japanese casualties. Hence the focus on the memo.

and again, if you wanna make a fake, where do you get clear new footage of the Tag spokesman ?

And this is hardly any proof, but I wouldn't have spent an hour translating something like that unless I was sure it was IG Very Happy
Cloverfield isn't even being advertised in Japan (no idea if it's getting released within the next few months), so to get a Japanese speaker to do a report that realistically, that quickly is impossible for someone not connected to the viral marketing.

We've got 6 videos, and I still don't see how the UK could be in the dark with this news story. Thanks, Matkasuku for the insight and translations. The Russian video newscaster was speaking way too fast for me to translate - господин kosmopol, it's up to you. большое спасибо!

As for me, I believe all of these are in-game. It seems as though these news agencies are like those in the U.S. One station gets the breaking news, then the others are fighting to scoop it next, but using what they glean from the original newscast.

I was thinking about this last night. Do any of the Slusho 7 have any relatives/friends in the military? As I stated before, an incident like this would not go unnoticed by our government intelligence, and they would, for sure, be tracking where survivors go, and where that tanker is headed.
Also, the seismological information on the "earthquake" would be recorded somewhere so that the public could see it. It happens all the time with tremors here - if there is an earthquake event, the USGS asks for witnesses of the event, giving their location, what they felt, an estimate as to how strong it was, etc. An earthquake out in the Mid-Atlantic would have someone looking at possible tsunami situations, if it was strong enough. Those are two other avenues that should be explored.

I agree, although I certainly don't speak Russian Very Happy

Edit: Although when you look at the YouTube users other videos... there is one about fish and one about Russian(?) military? All added about an hour ago.

Man the fish in the other video here are weird ain't they???

Crap 47 pages to read...and rising...

Ok first things first, the boat that we see people leaving on is on the left side of station from the perspective of the helicopter.

Second, there are possibly more boats, but we cant see them. The Station may have already been evacuated.

The black hump is NOT a boat, and I doubt its MGP either.

I doubt that the asian man in the backgroun that was brought up is Ganu, as there is no indication it is. It could be any asian man, hell he might not even be asian.

The ladies son may be the one in the picture with jamie, there are similarities.

Im geussing the 7 casualties were those on the life boat.

Right, and as a result, while I would like to get an English version of the newcast, I don't expect it to provide much more info than any of the rest of them. The translations we've received so far are focused on the spectacular video, the TIDOWave connection, and Tagruato's downplay of the incident, to the point where they don't even acknowledge that the station is gone, yet. The agencies are starved for more info, but since this happened over a week ago, the trail is somewhat cold.

Although it certainly doesn't look completely professional, I don't think someone put that together with the interview late yesterday or throughout the evening, IMHO.
