 		Either the earthquake itself disturbed the monster, or Tagruato's activities upset the monster, then the monster moved, causing the earthquakes.

 		Okay, Ive only read about 30 pages yet, so maybe some of these points have been mentioned... in that case: Sorry in advance.

First, I would like to mention that I study civil engineering in Norway, and thus have some knowledge on the subject of oil platforms.

The platform is obviously of the floating type. 4 legs (in this case) whit bouancy pontoons below the surface, Ill try to make a ASCII-scetch.

Now, it seems the platform is PULLED down, and the legs forced apart.

The red tower we se topple first seems to be the drilling tower.

As for the debris shooting up, it MIGHT be boyant debris, pulled down with the platform (not just sinking) which then breaks free and shoots to the surface. BUT the piece of debris hitting the small inflatable seems to be part of a girder. Why make that clear, unless to point out that its a non-boyant piece of the platform (which must thus have been shot up by some outside force...)

Now strangely enough the platform does not seem to have regular free-fall lifeboats (a staple on any off-shore instalation of this kind) These enclosed boats are dropped freefall from the platform in case of emergency and power fast away, generally these boats are red, yellow or orange.

The high presence of armed paramilitary TAG-staff seems a bit strange as well unless the platform had some special operation, where the need to keep secrecy high, or perhaps some experimental subject under controll?? Wink

As for the chained briefcase, that is not very peculiar, it might be high-secrecy businesspapers, which are usually ( at least in movies) chained to the messenger. My guess is that the chopper was just a resupply-chopper, and that there's no obvious TIDO source to the pictures. (Or they wouldnt have posted so confused and bewildered blogposts on their website)

As for the women Leclerc, their must be some hidden clues there, but I don't think the son looks like the Teddy from the myspace-pic. (Discepransies in: Chin, eyes and nose)
Teddy is american (according to the J&T-video where we here his voice), not part-french. Mme Leclerc is obviously french. But maybe the son it's le bandit vert??

And lastly i love the way the news is presented very differently in the different languages (the german focus on technology, with the diplom engineer, the french on the woman with a missing son etc...) [/u]

But when I started writing this, I had read ALL 51 pages of this thread that were currently available and saw nothing on this line of discussion. That's right! ALL 51 PAGES. I've been reading non-stop for 2 hours.

I won't totally get into where I think and have heard that the mini-monsters come from... but it's most certainly not slusho! drinking people. Michael Stahl-David (Rob) says in an interview that Slusho! is infact a GOOD thing, that Rob probably wishes he had a Slusho during the attack.
It's just a buffed up energy drink that supposedly makes you stronger.. not mutate you into a mini-MGP.

Google Earth has this labled as another suggested site for Atlantis. Since there is no evidence either way, the possibilities are endless!

Yes, they do it but the person is usually at the spot where the news happened, even if the events have long passed. They just don't send people out to stand in some random spot in the dark.


Think so, huh? Well, they're not gonna get the reporter to the middle of the Atlantic, so what's the next best thing to provide dramatic effect? That would be the dark.
In fact, I was just watching on Live at 5 the other day where they had the reporter outside (as they always do), and where they were had absolutely nothing to do with anything. They were standing out in the snow, and I believe they were talking about kittens or something. Anywho, the darkness is for dramatic effect. And, I'd say, it works.


Now, Atlantis...I've done enough with the myth of Atlantis to be pretty sure that Atlantis, if it existed, was not in the Atlantic. But, with monsters and such, this movie isn't exactly paying much attention to realism.
Not that I think it's a legitimate theory...it just sounds sorta neat.

Exactly my point: they were felt because the earthquake occured IN THE OCEAN FLOOR. Those readings weren't reading the tsunami; they were reading the earthquake that caused the tsunami.

A surface platform, with one to two miles of ocean between it and the sea floor, will not create an off the chart Richter reading four thousand miles away unless that reading originated on the ocean floor.

That might be true, but we are talking about an ARG here and Chuai Station happens to be planted right by one of the possible locations.

Speaking of which, if anyone survived it would be possible to find some land close by, no?

 		Oh.. and I just have to mention (because i'm an antagonist) that it's mighty funny/peculiar that the US Newscast felt the need to not only mention crap about spilling oil into the ocean- but pointing it out in the survivor footage..
when we infact know there is NO Oil at Chuai.

So.. what were they pointing out then? HMM???
