This maybe nothing but stop that youtube link between 30 and 31 secs and it looks as if a greyish tentacle wraps around the top of the platform. Smoke? Water?

I see what you're talking about, but i'm inclined to believe it's just a piece of the station collapsing ontop.
It's extremely fuzzy though. Everything else seems to be more in focus than that

I'm almost beginning to wonder why they're giving us so many of them. I assume they're trying to emphasize that this is a well-publicized global event. Presumably this makes it all the more ironic when the cause of it all saunters into New York harbor.

Maybe a Chinese version? They'd enjoy documenting the travails of a Japanese company.

Perhaps a Saudi edition? They'd take an interest in something affecting an oil rig and, potentially, the oil market.

I'm surprised we haven't seen one from the UK, yet.

I think each clip adds something to the story.

- The Spanish one has mention of detailed seismic readings from a location in Spain.

- The last one (Korean? Japanese?) makes mention of a missing oil tanker.

I haven't gone through a detailed translation of all the rest of them, but I'm gonna venture to guess that each video has a different piece to this puzzle.

At BurningSoul: I watched the clip again and it looks like some thing is grabbing the left leg / pilar (or what it´s called Confused) of the station at the exact moment the station colapses into the water (aprox 30-31 sec. into the clip)... there´s a big movement in the water and it looks like some sort of tentacle wraping around the leg on the left side, or it could perhaps be oil (or seabed nectar) spreading into the ocean - it´s something black... I don´t know but it looks like something is grabbing the left leg of the station from beneath the ocean..!! - I have watched the clip a couple of times now and it looks like some force is at play Smile

I'm nearly positive the "grey tentacle" is just water splashing up. :/

you guys might have already talked about this but.

In the english version they said they did not know what was shooting the parts up out of the water. what attribute do you think the monster has in order to be able to shoot those objects out like that.

If it was throwing them out with tentacles it would create like a giant wave (you know when you punch towards the surface of the water in a pool)

Or maybe its spitting them out somehow...i dont know you guys prob. already talked bout this.

I think it was talked about but it was in this thread anyway so it doesn't really matter.

It has to be some sort of air pressure sending them up like that, I would bet that it's spitting that stuff out yeah.

Wow, ok cool. It is perfectly acceptable for a news agency to just subtitle and dub over another newsagency's footage eh? Yet the Korean dub has more scenes/footage?

If by dub you mean to say the video with the Korean overlay also has Korean being spoken, I think you are mistaken. I could be wrong, but if a Japanese speaker could check I think the report behind the Korean overlay has Japanese dialog. I also notice the voice and the graphics are different than the other Japanese clip we've seen - hence my interest in seeing the 'original' for this clip.

the CG in these videos are horrible, though I'm sure it's not meant to be seen by a lot of people...
and I'm not expecting perfect sound, but when the debris is flying out of the water, its a really bad sound effect (and delayed)

... I hope the movie isnt like this (because I was horribly disappointed with I Am Legend's CG work...)

As I've said before, if the trailer footage is anything to go by, there's nothing to worry about.

The debris part is the worst bit for me, the rest looks good enough, and yeah, the whoosh sound seems to be played from a single channel sampler, cutting off the previous sound each time it plays. Not saying that's what they've done, but it does remind me of a DJ hammering a sound effect button!

As for the sound effect itself, it sounds a lot like the primary fire of the gravity gun from Half-Life 2, but all that means is that particular effect is from a openly available sound pack or something.

Just watched the clip (30-31 sec. mark) five times and I still think it looks like something is grabing the leg and pulling to the left while the station collapses to the right side (would make sense that the station "falls" to the right side due to some force at play to the left side of the station pulling outwards - and it also collapses really, really fast).. could just be my imagination.. Smile

And about the debris being "shot" upwards from beneath the ocean.. it reminds me of a whale that comes to surface and shots water from its back (just the image I´m getting) - I know it´s not a whale Laughing but imagine the scenario.. either way there´s really some force behind the shooting of debris and at a rapidly pace.. weird..!!

What if MGP is a giant Octopus and the black stuff in the water is it's "ink" that is shoots out when it's scared?

Of course Octopuses don't climb onto land and destroy buildings... Unless MGP is a combination of different sea creatures.... genetics gone wrong?

Or unless you're the cheap knock-off version of Cloverfield from Asylum called 'Monster' Laughing

Half the posts on this thread are about how crappy the CGI is.... then they turn right around and swear there's tentacles, heads, flippers.... in the water.

Ever think that these things everyone thinks they're seeing are just bad CGI "artifacts"? Not to mention these videos are posted on the worst picture resolution website known to man: Youtube.

Doesn't matter, in a week we will know if the creature has tentacles. If it doesn't, I'll enjoy reviewing the 48 other threads like this one.
