Marlena probably doesn't explode as a result of consuming kaitei no mitsu, considering we've never heard of it happening anywhere else. We have had some hints that overdoses have caused some degree of illness or odd effects, so you think maybe Jamie spikes Marlena with a bit too much at the party and that's why she is a bit sour looking? When the adrenaline hits, maybe that's enough to burn it down a bit and allow her to deal with it. It could also mean her high dosage attracks the specific 'bite' attack.

it's a good theory, but I can't see them going that much into detail in the movie.
If it's only 90 minutes long.. we'll probably BARELY get a backstory. I'm pretty sure Jamie and her eating of the "DO NOT EAT" pouch won't be included, and therefore just won't make sense.

That, and i'd hate to see whiny bitchy Jamie, and her stupid ramblings and cheesy strip scene in the movie. She's gets a poop-sandwich from me.

I wonder why Teddy had to go all the way to the Chuai station just to steal some seabed's nectar. If it really was that popular in Japan and not just in Slusho then why would he have to go the station to steal some. I think there is more to this sample than just being seabed's nectar. Just like everyone has been saying, it wouldn't make sense for Slusho to make people explode since everyone drinks it in Japan. I think the sample has more to do with the monster since the whistleblower made it known that there is no oil at the drilling station and so there has to be something else going on. If it is the nectar then I think it would go along with the theories that if not kept frozen it is either more potent or has other effects.

I was thinking the same thing.
If it's so commonly used, then why would it be such important evidence?
Could it be something else? If something else, what the hell is it?

I think it's to get the raw substance. Whatever is in Slusho has been processed, possibly into a less harmful form. Tagruato made a big deal on their website about how no one else had seabed nectar in their possession.

It could be a toxin or venom, I know the last time I had a scorpion sting I felt pretty mellow for a half hour afterwards. It could be that they somehow extract the DSI from a gland and stabilize it in a semi solid substance. This is assuming they had Clover in captivity (which I doubt).

it could a couple things
1.paraFUN, we all know that it's edible, but we also know that there has been a large recall, Why? what happens when they eat it.

2. PURE dsi, sure it's quite popular in japan, but how concentrated is it, Im sure not everyone can get a hold of it, so i would assume that tagruato would control the outflow.

How concentrated is the stuff released into the public, I would highly doubt they would put pure DSI in the slusho, or parafun for that matter.

plus if anyone could just purchase the pure stuff , there would be a lot of companies buying the stuff and adding it to there products, anyone could have there very own slusho drink.

So i would assume that this sample is PURE DSI.

i was thinking, what if teddy intended jamie to eat the 'evidence' all along, maybe as some kind of proof of what it does to people or as a protection form mgp, only reason im thinking this is its odd to put do not eat on something that looks so inedible

Shucks, it would be kind of interesting if Jamie and Teddy are the monsters all along. Maybe they duke it out over Central Park while Rob and Beth watch.

For those doubting that Marlena assplodes, there are photos that show her being held by two hazmat guys and Rob looking at her with a look of total horror on his face. I'd find the link to those pictures (I'm sure CloverfieldClues has it somewhere on the site), but I have to go to work now.

No more updates until I get home. Wink

First thing I thought when i saw the viral videos about the station sinking was that the monster destroyed it because it was taking the seabed nectar from it, really interesting to think about Tagruato having clover in his possesion and extracting the nectar from it, but it isnt likely. Then again a monster attacking NYC isnt very likely
