Once he gets closer I would suspect so but why would the tanker head straight for NYC? Maybe they are getting their orders from Tag and there is an emergency plan in place.

I would guess that with the distress call, the tanker may be damaged and is heading the the nearest port.

There is no way that is the nearest port. There is something that has to do with rob having something he brought back. Not necesarily why the tanker went there, but why clover did, yes.

End distress tape.

I changed the name of the distressed station to that instead of Chuai. There's no evidence yet to prove or disprove it originated from Chuai.

What about what Mukatsuku posted just a bit ago? The reporter says it's from the tanker.

It wont, it still has another 11 days to go.

That's what I was wondering. If MGP is in pursuit of the tanker wouldn't this all be a bit soon? I can see the tanker being damaged and tugging into NYC but not with MGP on its tail.

Because it came from the tanker?

Wait, are we saying the distress signal came from the station or the tanker?

ok in this 80 pages of madness, I missed something. Where in relation is this "tanker" to "the station"?

I'd just like to specify, I am not 100% sure it says the call came from the tanker, but the mayday call is at the same time they are talking about the tanker meeting "difficulties/resistance" and mentioning that the loss of contact with the tanker could possibly be related to the incident at Chuai.

Yes! Several people have asked about this, and I have made at least 3 posts in the past hour or two concerning it. We just need someone fluent in Japanese to listen to the news report again.

I've mentioned it a few times - they are reporting that contact was lost with the tanker while it was on it's way to New York from Norway and that they think the distress it ran in to could be related.
I am sure the blue circle is the approximate location of the tanker when they lost contact.

Apologies, the last post I read (or remember reading at least) that dealt with that distress call said that the call was from Chuai, so I wanted to get verification. What you're saying is exactly what I originally thought and what (IMO) makes the most sense. Thanks for clarification.

No problem. That part was the hardest bit to translate due to the English and Japanese spoken at the same time.

Though I want another Japanese speaker to listen to the section where it's talking about the armed men in the rescue boat.
I know it's talking about them having the Tagruato logo on their clothes, but I want someone else to listen to the sentence before that

Right here.

Edit: Missed Mukatsuku's post right above. Well, as long as there was talk about a tanker in distress, I think there may be a link from Chuai -> tanker -> New York.

Oh, about the Korean video...
When someone gets around to translating things, please translate this first frame that flashes by so fast you never see it in normal playback:

watch the japanese news reel... they show an image of a tanker while re-playing the distress call in the background.

Apparently the tanker is somewhere in between the station and the coast of the US. Which means either the tanker is coming from the station and gets attacked after the station goes down. Orrrr MGP follows the tankers wake all the way back to civilization (NYC), attacks it in the process and then finishes it off by the SOL.

I certainly can't read Korean, just Japanese, but the 12 and 27 are obviously December 27th Smile

Some people say the Korean video is in Japanese with Korean subs - if so, when I get home from work, I'll get to translating the Japanese, or at least say one way or another whether it is Japanese or Korean that is spoken in the video.
