I find that recent ARGs trailheads/videos/etc are using tags such as 1-18-08 in order to catch Cloverfield fiends searching the internet for more clues. Turns out they have NOTHING to do with the movie or the publicity for the movie.

as long as there is no "0" before 1-18-08 then its irrelevant?

premiere groups I have an odd question, would it be possible to sticky one of the meetup threads (perhaps the one with the interactive map?) so people could start organizing groups for the premiere?
That way we won't get tons of similar threads over the next couple of weeks.

That is an excellent question and not odd at all, this is Odd . Anyway - I'll sticky a thread and direct people there, but I don't think it's going to be as useful to people as would creating a wiki page for your suggested meeting place and allowing people to sign-up if they're in your area or just want to see the film there. We have people in cities all over the world and it's going to make things tricky if there's just the one thread. And I agree that a million and one threads is equally problematic. I think wiki is the way to go.
[EDIT] - done! Meets Page and Liverpool example for sign-ups, plus stickied thread for letting people know about meets in their area.

I was involved with this very early on but I have stepped away in order to get married, shop for xmas, etc. In other words life has gotten in the way of my Internet time. (I hate when that happens )
In my 2 months away from this, I've missed the discussion, but I saw a trailer the other day where it showed soldiers and wounded in a military Mash-like GP8 tent. It was shot with the camcorder effect and it panned to the side of the tent and showed a clear view of 2 silhouetted creatures fighting over a woman tearing at her arms.
I was looking for the spec thread on this video and I thought, "Oh, we must know what the creature(s) is now", but I can't find it. I checked cloverfieldclues.com for the trailer but not even as much as a mention. I'm beginning to think I was the only one that saw this trailer but that's ridiculous.
Does any know where I can see this spec thread? Being away from this ARE gives me no opportunity to let you know of a trailer #.
Thanks for any help.

I've been away from Cloverfield for a month or so, and now find people calling the monster "GP" or "MGP", but can find no explanation for what the letters stand for.
Please assist. Feeling out of the loop.

Good question.
I hope we find an answer soon.

according to cloverfieldclues.blogspot.com -
"In the English version, you can see a website mentioned - EndOil.org. The website was created in 2004, so this appears to be a real organization, and is OOG. (i.e. don't bother them!)"

1972 Book I searched and found stuff on AKM, but nothing said about a
book found in 1972 with no author, and the title won't be released, that Cloverfield is supposedly based on. Has this been debunked
already?
