she goes home early
Has this been posted? Beth is at the party when it starts, but goes home before midnight.

Thus the cognitive dissonance we feel over her whereabouts.

I'm pretty sure that people have already realized that Beth left early. We also thinks that something happens between her and Rob that makes her do this.

This fact becomes an important plot point, apparently, since Rob's main motivation and mission throughout the movie is to rescue Beth from her damaged apartment.

He apparently succeeds, and then later they get crushed together under a bridge in Central Park ( or so it seems).

I mean, if this is the last scene in the movie, and it's from the camera found in "Case designate Cloverfield found in site US447 area formerly known as Central Park" then that means that it's the same camera inside the helicopter that is crashing, right?

I pretty sure the current theory is that yes, at least Rob and Beth survive the helicopter crash.

Presumably. The only gotcha is that the scene with Rob and Beth was shot at night around midnight (if I remember correctly from the video that nooneimportant77 shot this summer) and the spinning helicopter scene is at dawn.

EDIT:
Who knows how much if any of the scene under the bridge shows anything from outside the bridge, so the darkness may not matter, especially since the scene was lit. Lack of Hud in that scene also suggests post crash.

Only if it IS the video shot by nooneimportant. But if it's the video, as some have suggested, that begins with Rob saying "Seven hours ago, some Thing attacked the city," then that means that the time - according to the news report that started this - is roughly 7:30 AM. Dawn or near dawn.

So which is it?
