 		[SPEC] Tanker Connection
Ok gang, im starting a new thread, (and please dont trout, I know we've discussed it in the [NEW] Chuai Station Videos thread) BUTTTT, that thread has gone completely to the birds.

We've gone from video translations, blowholes, tentacles, tankers, Grumpypants names and everything else to Katie Couric. Now, people are just posting for the hell of it and its becoming impossible for us to actually figure anything out.

So, my point. There is OBVIOUSLY a connection between the Chuai Station, MGP, and NYC. We have screencaps of the tanker in NYC with the Tagruato symbol, and another shot of Hav Vind from the Korean News Report.

Theories:
-MGP attacked the tanker in the Atlantic
-MPG follows tanker to NYC then attacks
-Tanker is holding DSI or something else MGP wants/needs

Feel free to investigate all and any angles of the Tanker connection in the ARG. That is all. Thanks.

 		Sounds good to me, not to immediately debunk you though but Colt had a good idea about the tankers not matching up right away, ill copy and paste it here.

 		i thought the tanker theory was dead or did i miss something in the MGP sized thread we have going? anyways im still convinced the french vid has something to offer it is too random for that one to be the only vid about the woman and her son. but again that would mean that the tanker vid is also vital....man we need to work together in groups or something on certain projects its way to jumbled around here and we need to fix it!

Which is exactly why I think we should start creating smaller threads relevent to the nuances of those videos. Everyone's ideas are just being lost in a garbled mess in the other thread.

The tanker theory never died btw, it just got completely lost in the other thread and everyone forgot about it. Its still alive, and I have a feeling it's going to become an important tie-in in the next week or so.

Actually, I replied to him in that thread as well. Basically, the photo says Hav Vind and the distress call says Hav Vind. Same exact ship, not just an "example" ship.

Edit: I think another good reason that there are 2 different tankers is the length of time between now and the Tag tanker's destruction in the movie (over 2 weeks at the time of the news report). Several people brought this up before, so it's not my idea.

see i lost it on that thread so i was confused on the tanker thing. i really think the french vid hs alot of importance and the tanker as well. we really should develope teams to work on things.

Im still thinking we all need to work on the tanker(s) and figure out what they're purpose in the breadcrumb trail is.

*EDIT* Ok, well we've got the tanker thread up and running, so do we have another to focus specifically on clues for the french video? If not we should get one up and running.

 		In all honesty, I think the only thing they represent is how the monster ends up in New York City. If it's home is about where Chuai Station was, then there's no immediate reason why it would make a beeline for North America, let alone NYC. It could just have easily headed to Europe.

 		Here's a question.
When was it said the tanker was attacked after Chuai?

Was it attacked the same day or day after?
Was it attacked the day before and the Japanese station is the only one to see a possible connection?

 		From what I have seen there are two main theories about the tanker going:

1. There are 2 separate tankers that belong to Tag and the one in the video has been destroyed already...the mayday call

or..

2. This is the same tanker and thats just an archived photo before the Tag logo was added to the deck.

The questions I have about those are,
1. Why was there a need for one, let alone 2 tankers for Chuai since we have already been informed that there is no oil there obviously Tag has something to transport from there, whether its the Nectar/DSI or something altogether different. I'm not sure we will ever really know whats on there until the movie, if even then.

2. How does a tanker of that size put out a mayday and then disappear for the next 10 days until the 18th when it shows up in New York, wouldn't the Coast Guard or someone be out there searching for it? If it has gone missing someone would have surely seen it getting close to NY and reported it and if there was no communication with the vessel it would be intercepted before it was ever allowed to get that close to NY.

This is a quote from the Japanese translation from Mukatsuku. I think most of us have assumed that the tanker distress call took place after Chuai's destruction because of this and also the fact that this segment of the news report takes place after discussion of Chuai's destruction. Essentially, we're assuming the time of attack, it's not quite confirmed.

To JordLimb: The Hav Vind was not coming from Chuai, it was coming from Norway. As for the Tag tanker (again, I'm assuming 2), we don't actually know where it came from, we just know it's in New York Harbor at the time of the movie.

Eh, that doesn't really give me any sense of time.

The tanker being hit first would also explain the American report of a possible Coast Guard presense.
If they lose contact with a ship they'll send search teams out to where they think it was last.
That far out would have planes and possibly boats sent immediately with both definitely searching the next day in a larger area.
A larger area that might put a plane near Chuai.

I know theres a little blurb after the last mayday but I couldn't quite tell the last little bit.
