Sorry, mistake. I was too excited, I guess.

My browser was saving a clean copy instead of a corrupted copy, I'm guessing it only keeps the most recently fetched version in cache. I'm now seeing the old messages. However, my comment about the distorted image sizes still seems correct.

I checked a new corrupted image against an old corrupted one and everything inside is still the same. So nothing has been changed as yet.

Darkshot: Do you mean that you've seen the CDEF in normal pictures before? In corrupted pictures on ILB before 0 days? After 0?

This is not unusual. The text is corrupted and resized throughout the site at random times and places. Has been that way for days.

Kind of creepy is the fact that they chose font width 666 when she starts talking about her family...

Not really. Check the original height and width vs. the expanded height and width:

266
200

666
600

or

266+400 = 666
200+400 = 600

As of now there is a little less than 4 hours left till the "network throttling erodes." I just did a little test and although the countdown changes when you change your computer clock's current hour, it doesnt change if you just change the timezone. This leads me to believe the countdown is correct for everyone as long as you have the right time for the right timezone in your windows clock. So a little less than 4 hours till the clock reads 28:00:00:00:000. Time to sleep a little... Drool

Hmms, the counter shows 27:19:38:... for me. I'm in CET, and clock is
set correctly. Looking at the javascript-code, (http://www.ilovebees.com/countdowntochina.js), it is a simple countdown timer, with no correction for timezones in it.

That's why when you change your computer clock, it jumps accordingly,
and does not react to timezone-changes.

But we'll see which timezone they are in...

I'm betting it will be at 6:07 Pacific Time, since they are supposed to be in San Francisco, that would be its server time. But then I'm HOPING that its not PST, because then that means we have 5 more hours... Sad

Dang, nm, didn't notice you have to refresh the page in order to get the countdown to refresh when you change timezones. However, the countdown changes right as you change the clock itself.

And for the Trout comment on my above post: I did a search and didn't see it posted anywhere regarding changing timezones on your windows clock, my bad.

Direct changing when changing your pc-clock is because the script calls itself every .099 seconds to display the countdowntime, and then fetches the current time of your clock, so semi realtime display. std. scripting Smile

Guess the server displays the network throtthling message to avoid
everybody hitting refresh the minute the counter would elapse, because if that was clientside too, we could easily figure out the exect time of the next event.

56789:CDEFGHIJSTUVWXYZcdefghijstuvwxyz

Ok people found something weird and I dont know if its been said before:

Well it just so happens all the screwed up pictures seem to contain information.

The code:

56789:CDEFGHIJSTUVWXYZcdefghijstuvwxyz is in all the images!

I don't know what the 56789 bit is but when I run the letters through rot filter using ROT-24 I get: ABCDEFGHQRSTUVWX.

The up shot is that there are 8 letters missing in the middle and 1 at the end (z)

Using Rot-24 and getting 8. 24/08

24th of August. The 1 doesn't fit though.

&'()*456789:CDEFGHIJSTUVWXYZcdefghijstuvwxyz
and
&'()*56789:CDEFGHIJSTUVWXYZcdefghijstuvwxyz

Are common in jpgs. Part of the file format.
