HarHar, yea I'm retarded (I am waiting for my helmet and short bus pass) but I just could not get into all the long scenes in the Coliseum Dungeons.

OK, the first time I saw Gladiator it was on a 6 hour bus ride from Hamilton to Ottawa. Oh yeah, and it was after seeing the stupidest movie ever Groundhog Day. So I didn't mind Gladiator because it wasn't repetitive.

Great Flick Ned... Ryerson. "Needlenose Ned"? "Ned the Head"? C'mon, buddy. Case Western High. I did the whistling belly-button trick at the high school talent show? Bing. Ned Ryerson, got the shingles real bad senior year, almost didn't graduate? Bing, again. Ned Ryerson, I dated your sister Mary Pat a couple of times until you told me not to anymore? Well?

All depends on the monster I won't be terribly upset by the movie length if there is some additional dozen minutes of footage to view on DVD.
But everything hinges on the monster, and I'm betting that even Matt Reeves is embellishing the facts when he says that we get to see the monster for any period of time beyond a minute or two. Are they 'clear' shots? Likely not. The 'in and out of focus'/'jerky movement' technique that we saw in the trailers is a common trick of CGI wizards to avoid spending hours and hours on making a shot seamless with the environment...this was done 'heavily' in Transformers.

Considering it's a PG-13 movie I am guessing that there will be an R Rated DVD version.

Agreed. I would almost prefer limited visibility of the monster. This would give the movie its needed realism. If a monster was chasing me, or even in the city proximity, I doubt I would stay still long enough to see it in full view. I also think the mystery will add the scary dramatic feel that I'm looking for. I know its alive and huge, I dont need the whole thing...I just want a taste lol.

Good call, seeing the moster after we know it is shot from a handheld camera would mean whoever was holding it would most certenly be eaten, thrown, whatever the cause of death may be. Then how would they find the camera unless they are going through MGP's crap, that would almost be whole movie in of itself.

I think you have found the sequel. With Uwe Boll directing/producing.
Little off topic here, but the girl who wrote Bloodrayne said in an interview on Afterellen.com (I think it was the Power-Up gala) that Bloodrayne was a piece of fecal matter.

1hr-24min is getting into the cartoon-short range...yuk!
I guess we'll just have to hope for an extended DVD version.

I can go with an hour and a half. Most movies are way too long, especially considering how uncomfortable the average theater seat is. Movies over two hours usually overdo it. (Think the montage of endings that soaked the last 45 minutes of The Return of the King, yuck).

i believe that probably the first 15 minutes will explain how they get to the party scene, and from there on out it's all MGP destroying the city

I guess I can live with the short running-time...as long as they make good use of that time.

90 or 84 minutes, what's the difference. I have no problems with the movie's running length. In fact, I've seen a dozen or so movies lately that could've benefited from being edited down a few minutes.

this movie is probably going to be 80% destruction and monsterage, which is a HUGE amount of time compared to other movies with their usual 10-30 minute max epic battles
