Same here faeryqueen. I tried emailing Jeff about a week ago, but he never replied. Has anyone heard from him? And Doug, have you heard from Dan? I suppose he would post something on the website, but you never know..? Haha.

Ok, I just got this e-mail from Jeff:
Quote:
I was in a car accident the other day. I didn't go to the cemetery. I am trying to figure out insurance and other things. I saw something on the site....is anybody still helping....i didnt hear anything about it from anybody

So I think he means he saw the post from Dan. I guess we gave him the site address at some point? Anyway, I played dumb. I said I didn't know what he meant and asked what he saw. If he specifies that he saw Dans post, then I guess I can't really deny it. I don't know if I should tell him everything Dan told us. I mean, I don't trust Dan at all, but maybe he's right about Jeff not being able to handle it.

I think Jeff is referfing to the image of the pigpen cipher he saw on the main page of www.bullerman.net I doubt he has seen the message in the www.bullerman.net/hide directory and I don't think we should tell him at this point until we figure out what is going on.

I think that, if we are going to work with Dan to find out what's going on then he is going to have to work with us. (I think he said that) So, we either 1) act like we don't see anything on bullerman's main page and loose Jeff's trust in us or 2) we get Dan to create another hidden directory and give us a login/password to give to Jeff. As for what to put in the directory, I guess info that Dan wants to give Jeff or doesn't care for him to see.

Anyways, if this is what we decide to do, then someone needs to send Dan an email explaining what we want/need.

I think this is the PM's way of telling us to do a better job keeping up the act of making sure we tell Jeff everything we find. It is kind of suspicious when people who are keeping such good contact with you about everything, suddenly go quiet.

I think acting dumb towards Jeff, about anything he mentions to us, will make him lose a lot of trust in us and that cannot be good. Maybe someone should email Jeff with some kind of story that is close to the truth but never mentions Dan or what is happening to him. Something like we are still working on the login and so forth for the /hide page and then mention a bunch of other things to divert his attention, like the cemetery or if he has had any more contact with Steve.

nextday, those sound like good ideas. Why don't you do that. I've just got too many pokers in the fire right now and can't concentrate on anyone thing long enough to give a coherent answer.

I think Jeff likes for us to comment on his blog as well.

by the way has anyone contacted NataS and filled him in on what's going on?

Nothing yet. I haven't been able to get on the computer since Monday, and most likely won't be back on until Friday though Bang Head. Has anything new happened?

He is, but he wanted someone to keep him updated via text. He never gave me his phone number though. Maybe he gave it to Miki?

Maybe so.. maybe he gave it to the people that he entrusted with the phone number which cannot be posted!

How 'bout...

Ok, how about we tell Jeff that what the image in the main bullerman page leads us to the /hide page, and that it says the password is somehow hidden in the /mail page. we tell him we've tried many combinations for usernames and passwords like 01/05/08, and cemetery, and the name of the cemetery, and almost nothing IN the /mail page seems to work, but we still need time to check for certain. that could buy us some time until Dan changes the /hide page to something he doesn't mind Jeff knowing, and we could give him the real username and password for the /hide site. Although we'd need to tell dan first so he can change the site before Jeff gets suspicious again. Just a suggestion based on other people's suggestions....

Nope! I did get the phone number, which I am debating texting or something, but natas never gave me his own number. And I don't know if we should be hiding all this from Jeff. Obviously we shouldn't tell him anything too specific, but I think we owe him the courtesy of saying that we got into /hide and we're in contact with Dan somewhat, and it's still not quite clear what's happening to him but we're doing all we can to help. That way we're not doing any weird elaborate lies.

miki_38x1, that sounds like the best idea so far, I agree with you. Because our loyalty is with helping Jeff first and fore most by what ever means we have and regardless of what Dan might have us to do.

So miki would you please contact Jeff via email. I'm going to try and post something on his blog to let him know we are still helping.

Since Doug is going to be gone for awhile maybe someone else should contact Dan and tell him we are ready for our first mission. We should have a backup route for Dan to contact us anyways.

Miki, go ahead and try to text Dan's phone to see what happens. Also, NataS posted the number in the wiki if anyone else would like to try it.

Sure thing Sylvia! I just texted the Bullerman phone, so I'm waiting on a response from that. I'll try to get ahold of Jeff, but he hasn't really answered any of the emails (all of one) I've sent recently. Has anyone had better luck? If so, maybe a barrage of emails will reinstate Jeff's confidence in us? Haha.

EDIT: Dan just texted me back, but, unfortunately, he sent me a picture. I have an iPhone, which is incapable of getting multimedia messages. GAR. But AT&T provides me with a nifty little thing to view messages online, but it doesn't EVER work for me. So if someone could go to viewmymessage.com, message ID: c0r0e3ech, password: loot9tout, retrieve the picture and post it here, I'm sure we would all benefit. Haha. Hopefully you all have better luck than I do!

oak hill cemetery it is
thanks Miki

it wasn't easy but I got it. I couldn't download the flash for some reason so I had to take screen caps and piece them together to get the complete picture.

It's Oak Hill Cemetery, the marker is in front of it where Mount Vernon Road Southeast and 17th Street Southeast meet.

here are the images. the first is the one I pieced together. the second is it overlaying in Google earth.

So, I guess, we still need to send Jeff to Oak Hill Cemetery.

Arg! I told him like 8 times last week he should go! Anyway, Jeff e-mailed last night asking if we'd broken the code. I said yes and that inside was a message from Dan asking us to help. I told Jeff we don't trust Dan and haven't done anything to help him yet. So far, that is all true. If we decide to "help" Dan, we can decide then how much to tell Jeff. In the e-mail he also said he had a friend helping him try to break the code. Naturally, I asked him questions about his friend since the last one didn't turn out so great. I am awaiting his reply.
