I had that same problem, I just tried everything again, and with patience I managed to open it. Then closed it again, and locked it by accident, then tried again to open it and so on, managed eventually.

Don't have an Isis, but have heard that people are selling decryptors on ebay.

I've also heard that the ciphertexts are all simple substitutions.
If that's the case, this site should make short work of them.

And I'll bet that all the clues exist somewhere on these very forums, should the adventurous soul wish to look.

Not sure if that site will do it, but is is simple substitution.

Really just need to think... thats all.

Not sure but I think page 4 or 5 or 3 of this topic explains it nicely

Weirdest thing just happened to me. i have already opened my Isis many times but i just opened it now and the maze and a large spring popped out when i took the halves apart. Luckily, it was easy to put back together and i could see how the 2 bbs roll around and the holes they fit in. It was pretty cool.

Also, i was wondering if anyone has removed the cover to the maze because i want to do it but I'm afraid of damaging the Isis or the cover. Any ideas?

I would NOT advise removing the maze cover.

I had to take mine off because there was some glue residue in the maze that makes it exponentially more difficult to get though the maze. The glue residue may be why so many are having trouble getting through the maze.

The maze cover is easy enough to remove. Just use a utility knife to work your way between the maze cover and the seam above one of the locking lugs. Then use a flat screwdriver to pry it the rest of the way off.

However, replacing the maze cover is QUITE DIFFICULT as in addition to being glued the maze cover is also compression fit to the rim. So, when you go to put it back on it's just a little too big to fit back together. It can be done, but at the minimum you're going to get some cosmetic damage and possibly worse.

 ISIS SPOILER
A WAY AROUND THE MAZE>

HEY for all you out there who are pissed off at this thing heres an easy way to solve it, no maze required.
hold the puzzle upside down in you hand (plunger down) and make sure the bearings are quiet. then quickly and forcefully ark it up and turn to come down onyour other hand or a table quickly so the bearings cant fall out of the groves they are in when it is upside down. ( this step is similar to when you swing a bucket of water upside down without water falling out)

you should then be able to shake it rightside up without and noise.
when this is accomplished turn the top counterclockwise about a centimeter, till it stops you, the turn forcefully clockwise and it should just unscrew.
*IF IT RE LOCKS DURING THE UNSCREWING< JUST REPEAT THE FIRST STEP AND CONTINUE TO UNSCREW[/spoiler]

It may be a badly made distraction, but it's not broken.

For a hint regarding "The rings and symbols" decipher clue #4:

Somewhere in one of the ISIS threads, there is a photo or the maze under that cover. I saw it after I solved mine. It it interesting. I don't remember where I saw it thought. Sorry.

The maze photo can be found here:

Not all mazes are the same.

I know people have been asking if they broke their ball or not, but I need to ask my question. I dropped my Isis about five times to see if I release the 3bb. When I dropped it the fourth time, I tried pressing the plunger and it seemed like it was stuck. The plunger went about halfway and it made a clicking sound. After a while it went back to normal. Did I really break it or did the 3bb make it to the end of the maze?
