Hmmm...it's torso was much further away from the ground, and it's tail never appeared to drag, it's arms were long, but thick, and it's "hands" were slender and long. The torso was definitely way thinner, but somewhat wide.

It's head definitely protruded more. It kinda had a long-ish neck that allowed it to rotate and lock around, and the head and was human/oval shaped, like a "grey" alien or voldemort.

Now...its face doesn't actually look human right? I mean, I think I would be disappointed if its face was actually human looking....

Does the monster look like this?

Or this?

Just to confirm, is the girl that explodes after she's bitten?

Also is this where they look down and see the monster walking? And was there a little monster in this scene?

To crookson,

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
it's face was pretty human looking, but in a pretty cool way.

To southside,

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
bears more resemblance to the first pic out of the 2, but still very very different, no visible claws though, just "hands". Imagine if you were to take away your pinky and the finger next to it.

Yes, that girl (Marlena) is the one (and only one) to explode.

Yes, that is the scene where they look down.
Here's what happens:
-After finally getting to Beth's building, it appears that her building has somewhat toppled/leaned into the adjacent building (it looks like the leaning tower of pisa) so Hud (unwittingly) comes up with a plan to climb up the adjacent building and then leap into Beths building (which works). After rescuing her, they cross over the leaning building where they spot the monster walking down the street as F-16's fly over and attack the monster. When they return to the stairway of the non-leaning building (which they climbed up), they find a little monster in the stairwell. Rob kills it with a fire ax located next to the door.

This scene is not to be construed with the pic of Rob and Lil holding the door closed. That scene happened as they were escaping the subway.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Nukes are the "final measure" according to one of the army people. However, they do initiate a strike named "Hammerdown" which is the final scene of the movie (where rob and beth are under the bridge in central park) Bomb sirens (like that of WWII) start going off in preparation for the strike, just as rob and beth give their final speeches. It's a somewhat chilling moment.

We do not know whether the strike was successful or not, or I might have misconstrued "Hammerdown" with this scene where a B-1 Stealthbomber appears to incinerate the monster, which fails, because the monster gets back up knocks the helicopter down into central park. In which case, yes, nukes were used in the final scene with Rob and Beth under the bridge.

LC.. is this what u saw?

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Synopsis:
A huge and mysterious monster drops into Manhattan and destroys everything in sight. It is the size of a building, with human sized parasites that drop off it and eat people. The film is a home video of events found by the government after it Nukes NYC to kill the monster.

Yes, our very own government nukes NYC. The home video starts with a party until suddenly the monster attacks during the celebration.

Closest thing to a story in the movie is the camera guy who tries to rescue his ex-girlfriend, but this is secondary to the scenes of destruction.

The movie starts with some footage from a camera of Rob and his girlfriend, planning a trip to Coney Island. There is a going away party for Rob (leaving for Japan) by his brother, his brother's girlfriend and some close friends. Everyone in this movie are unknown actors. During the party, his best friend (Jason) has been given the responsibility of camera man and does so throughout the entire film. Rob's now ex-girlfriend shows up at the party and they have a fight and she leaves. During the party, the lights go out, earth shakes and there are loud and eerie sounds of a giant creature. Everyone goes on the roof to check it out. A large explosion in the distance. Large showering fireballs illuminate the sky and crash into the buildings adjacent to their building. Everyone rushes out to the street to look. The head of the statue of liberty flies in flame, hits a building and crashes onto the street. There are more sounds of the creatures destroying everything. The kids run into a store. Outside there is ash everyone like 9/11 and people are walking around stunned. They decide to leave

Manhattan and head towards the Brooklyn bridge with all the rest of the civilians. Throughout these times, Rob is receiving phone calls and messages from his ex saying she is bleeding and hurt. He wants to go to her, while on the bridge the monster attacks toppling the bridge over and sending hundreds to their death including Rob's brother. They flee and are distraught over the death. They end up in the subway system where they grieve and then decide to go and help robs ex.

They walk the tunnel system where they are attacked by two of the smaller insect like monsters.

The girls from the party are brutally attacked and hurt badly. After they repel the creatures, they surface into a building where military are tending to civilians. The girl from the party dies. They leave and approach the large building that his ex is lying hurt. When they arrive, they see that her building has been destroyed to a point that it is leaning next to the adjacent building.

Knowing they cannot go up into hers, they decide they need to ascend the next one and traverse to save her if she is even alive. 37 stories later in the stairwell they cross into the tangent building, wind blowing, everything destroyed. His ex is alive but impaled by a piece of rebar. They save her and they descend to the ground level. The kids finally reach some military escort that puts them on choppers. Robs brothers girlfriend leaves in a different chopper. They overlook NYC's destruction and glimpses of bombers dropping bombs onto the monster below. All of a sudden their chopper is hit by a monster and they charge toward the surface. HUD(camera man) dies but Rob and his ex survive. They run through central park under a small bridge. They hide. More destruction and sounds of incoming doom are heard around them. They each say a little speech into the camera last words. The bridge collapses, and then blackness. The end.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The CGI was actually pretty good, especially close up with all the chaos going on. It was comparable to the most recent "Pirates of the Caribbean" movies.

The helicopter scene:
After marlena explodes, Rob, Lil, and Hud attempt to go to Beth's apartment. This is where the black army guy stops them and warns them of the airborne tactical strike known as "Hammerdown." The black army guy admits that he can't stop them from going (AND DOES NOT FOLLOW OR PROTECT THEM IN ANY WAY) but he does tell them that there will be helicopters available at a specific location at "0600 hours." After rescuing Beth, Hud/Lil/Rob/Beth go to the location while running side by side with the monster (nerve-wrecking). They get to the helicopters while the monster's attacking (kinda confusing that monster didn't annihilate the copters when it was standing right next to them). An army guy splits them up and Lil goes on the first copter that seemingly escapes, while Rob/Hud/Beth go on the second one. There's a somewhat cheesy shot of Rob kissing Beth movie style before their copter takes off. Rob/Hud/Beth are in their helicopter (it's dawn now) when they see the monster directly below them pretty far off (this is the best shot of the monster). Camera pans to a B-1 stealth bomber nearby as it bombs the monster. The monster agonizingly goes down, all you can see is smoke and ash. The helicopter stupidly goes toward the location where the monster went down as everyone is celebrating. The monster comes out of the smoke and whacks the copter sending it spinning downward. Camera goes off. When it comes back on, you only hear voices of Hud and Lil pulling Rob out of the wreckage in central park, but you can see some of the debris. Hud pics up the camera and then rob and lil freak out because the monster is right behind them. The camera pans up to this great shot of the monsters face (with these 2, huge, bulging, red "lungs") at which the monster picks up hud, bites/kills him, sending the camera and hud falling down.

This is where my favorite shot of the movie occurred: You only see Hud lying on his back on the grass as the camera desperately tries to autofocus between him and the blades of grass in front of it.

Rob grabs the camera, hide under bridge, bla bla bla, siren goes off, explosions go off, camera goes out, comes back to a scene of rob and beth at coney island (april 27th) on a ferris wheel saying this is the best day ever or something ironic and cliche like that.

Slushooo,

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
That is the gist of it, except for super small specifics like:
-Jason is only behind the camera at the very beginning before he gives it to Hud and makes him the official going away documenter (which occurs before the party).
-Rob/Lil/Marlena/Hud are ALL attacked by the little monsters in the subway (which were crawling on the ceiling before Hud turned on night vision and they came down and attacked. That was a scene where you kinda jump out of your seat haha). Except only Marlena bears significant damage as she was the only one bitten.
-It was AT LEAST 57 floors to get to beth's floor
-There was only 1 bomber in the helicopter scene

Other than those little things, that's a pretty abbreviated but accurate review
