I am pretty sure this was done on purpose, as when Rob is looking into the Camera and says the line he seperates the two words "Some...THING has attacked the city." Its done to emphasis the "Thing" part of the word.

The SOL is made of copper. You are simply seeing the exposed unoxidized copper layers thanks to MGP's handling of the SOL's head.

oooh... that makes sense. I thought it was like, glowing red hot or something... mainly because the in the 5 minute exclusive the SoL head is like smoking.

Well, then, dont you think a better way of doing this, to avoid the confusion, would be: "SOMETHING HAS FOUND US" ?

I am just screwing wit hyou. Leave Janis Ian (Dyke) alone. Lol Its not disgustingly thin she is just skinny. But she goes through a signicannt weight gain in the film so that might be better for you to look at.
