Well, it's understandable. He's just realized how goofy-looking he is... no wonder he's so pissed off.

I find it disturbing that people (who just saw the movie) are having difficulty describing the creature.
I'm not saying they didn't see the movie...I believe them...but there are 2 reasons why this bothers me:

1) It's obvious that the monster is barely shown...which is very bad
2) It sounds like it's too complicated of a design (when you see Godzilla, even in shadow, you know what you're seeing and can easily describe him)

Looks like they tried so hard to make something so different, they ended up making something utterly ridiculous...that you barely get to see.
I'm not sure what's worse...

The more I read about this movie, the less I want to see it. Sad

EDIT: But I'm still gonna see opening day (or midnight) Very Happy

I'd love to, if it weren't so hard to describe. You never got a great view of the thing as a whole.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
First you'd see it dodging in and out of buildings. Then, you'd see its feet stomping around our characters. The best shots of full body were when the cast was up on the roof of the building holding up Beth's and when they were in the helicopter.

It's a long lanky flat-footed weird ass alien. The most noticeable trait about this monster was its weird front arms. They bent downwards almost like a spider's appendages, or like having arms shaped like legs with a knee cap when it was forced to all 4's. It's face was smallish compared to its body with the 2 red sacks. (the best view of its face was when it was standing over HUD about to bite him. He looked around, then down and saw HUD, and stared at him for a few seconds. Here's a drawing someone did from a description. The face isn't right as well as other parts, but it's a start.... meh

The point is, it's a really good movie. It feels like a mean monster that has no motive but to just cause chaos. Everyone needs to just relax and see it for themselves.

WTF? That is Slusho Addict's drawing from page 4 of THIS thread. Are people even reading this thread?

Was that pic found on another forum?

There are about 3 guys who claim to have seen the movie at a screening at their campus with their tickets and their description is basically what LC said.

I haven't read too much of these spoilers, but do you think there will be a sequel?

I suppose that would depend on how well Cloverfield does at the box-office.
They've developed a compelling backstory with Tagruato and Tidowave...so that gives them room to tell the story in a more conventional way...with a bit more destruction of course.

Someone posted this on another forum and one person who saw the movie said this was pretty darn close to what the monster looks like:

There was a post made about that one by a new user, which then disappeared, not sure if that means anything.

at the risk of sounding absolutely dumb here..

there was a couple discussions going on about the lack of the letter "I" in one of the trailers (here and here). This above image (which looks cool might I add) is a rendition of what the monster may look like. Note the absence of eyes in the picture. Possibly related to the missing "I"s in the trailers.

who knows. just taking a stab in the dark here.

you know, something just occurred to me.

I know we are all concerned about the main monster, but what about the smaller monsters.

LC. Could we get a detailed description of them, their behavior, and their role in this movie?
