wallpapers, buddy icons, userbars, banners
I got to poking around at the use of userbars and I've also messed with making wallpapers and banners relative to all things Cloverfield, as I'm sure others here probably have. I started this thread to give us a good place to show them off.

I have a few guidelines (can't quite call them rules, because I can't really enforce them) for posting your images:
  • Please host your images remotely. This will save greatly on bandwidth and storage for uF.

  • Please use thumbnails for images over 400 pixels wide or 300 pixels tall. Use of thumbnails for some images even smaller would be fine, but may hamper the visual impact of the image. Be your own judge, but if it still looks good even smaller - go smaller.

  • DON'T quote images in your post. If you feel that you need to reference an image from a previous post, replace the image in the quote with a link to the image or the post it originated from. This thread is likely to get image intensive enough as it is.

  • Follow uF ToS. This means no vulgar images, or pointlessly graphic images. The movie may include some pretty graphic stuff, but let's not try to outdo it, OK?

 		I like the animation on the tidowave page where the Tagruato hands morph into claws and bleed the life out of the planet.

They are small graphics used in signatures in some forums and on profiles on some sites. I use a 'stack' of them on my Stickam profile page (though few do, but profile content in various fields on Stickam is a free-for-all). There are often rules about how many you may use in your sig on a forum or on some profiles. They are best used when they are contextual but not necessarily redundant (like using a uF, Slusho, or Cloverfield bar on here basically would be).

The ones I posted up are the conventional size. They are normally 350x19, sometimes 350x20. There are traditional standards for them, and some differing senses of aesthetic. Some people feel a userbar MUST have scan lines, or not show the whole of an icon or graphic ('mail slot' view).

It is fun, but don't think this thread is just for userbars. I'd invite anyone to add their wallpapers, buddy icons, avatars, banners - all those sort of graphics a fan might want to use.
