Severe has a nice one on page 30 too. I am so jealous. I can't draw worth jack. I am great with music though. I guess that's the trade-off... Crying or Very sad

Can someone attempt a drawing of the little ones? I have seen the references to the Starship Trooper bugs but I want to see what the mini MGPs really look like.

Thanks, but there wasn't much talent on my end.
I used the Reilly illustration and just used Photoshop to cut and paste, etc.

Well, I can't even use Photoshop so I still view it as talent. It ended up looking cool anyway, so mission accomplished. Cool

Sort of. It's closer than the last, but I don't remember the head having a different color than the body. It had that shape of head, but there was something more like an insect about it to me. The teeth clashed and were bigger. And especially when it opened its mouth, it looked totally different. Like when you see those bug movies and when it opens it's mouth up super wide, making it even that more scarier. Another thing I remember about it was that it kinda looked like it had a sheen or slimy quality about it.

And a last note the front appendages, where the arm bends like a knee, is higher up in the arm/leg.

Sorry if this doesn't help much haha. You'll know what I mean about hard to describe Razz

Thanks!!! This is exactly what I wanted to hear. What you just said makes its face seem more "monsterish" then humanoidish....Thanks!!

This is probably the best picture IMO. The arms are the closest to the movie compared to the other drawings. The head is also around the right shape. The tail is a little off, even though the tail is incredibly long, it doesn't show a lot of movement in the movie, it almost always stays right behind it. It does have little baby arms close to its chest a la T-Rex.

Its mouth looks a lot like a Predator's mouth when it opens:

EDIT: lol I didn't see this one until after I posted.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
WOW, this is probably the best overall pic of the monster. It hunches over a lot more, has a skinnier body, but the color is as close as it gets without actually seeing it yourself. MGP doesn't look like a deep sea animal but has the color of one, so just imagine it being slimy looking with gray/transparent skin. The scale in the picture is off, the monster is definitely not THAT tall, but it is pretty big.

The head is a little bit smaller and doesn't protrude in the back. but the breathing sacks are close to the right place.

The smaller monsters are a lot harder to describe cuz they move so freaking fast.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
there is a spot in the movie where it DOES show the small monsters being "shaken" off by MGP and causing havoc amongst the military.

They actually DO resemble"Starship Troopers" bug aliens but a lot smaller. They are actually about the size of a dog and can walk on walls. if viewed from the side, they kinda actually have a triangular shape. When the military has one of them locked up in a plexi-glass container. you could see how it has teeth the most closely resembles an angler fish. Because they move around so freaking fast and are jittery, its hard to describe them in great detail.

I wish I could draw so I could actually SHOW you, but alas, I'm horrible, lol.

Rather long insight and remaining questions.
My two and a half cents.

At the risk of ruining anything for those brave enough to NOT roll over the spoiler tags, unlike yours truly...

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
It is disheartening to find that neither Tagruato nor Slusho are mentioned in the film, at all. Apparently their namesakes' purpose was to get our attention, keep us interested, and give us a little backstory. However, those of us who have been following the ARG/ARE will wonder, what is the significance of seeing the Tagruato logo on the burning tanker?

Since we know from several reviews that the monster attacks in May instead of January, we are left to wonder what will become of Tagruato in that space of time. By the way, to those who just can't believe the events occur in May, let me ask you this: What kind of clothes are the characters wearing? I don't know about you, but if I were Lily I would NOT step out in a skimpy little dress mid-January in New York, even if a huge monster was headed my way. It's just a girl thing.

Anyway. We can already assume that Grumpy Pants, RIGHT NOW in real time, has destroyed the Chuai station. We now know that Grumpypants made his way from Chuai to NYC from January to May. A giant baby, however hideous, wandering aimlessly around the Atlantic until it accidentally bumps into a tanker sounds pretty plausible to me. He's just a baby, just catching food, exploring his world, remember. But the questions remain: why a Tagruato tanker, specifically? And where did the Tagruato tanker come from? Did Tagruato manage to rebuild Chuai, and does the tanker contain DSI/Slusho ingredients for American consumption? Most importantly, did MGP follow the tanker, or bump into it?

On the bright side, since Tagruato and Slusho aren't really mentioned, maybe we can safely assume that one or both of the following will happen:
-The ARG will continue for us until May 22nd. I personally hope it does. I particularly want to know who the good guys/bad guys are as far as Tidowave and Tagruato are concerned, as well as see more videos of Jamie, however pathetic they are.
-Tagruato and Slusho will become part of JJ's alternate universe, and recur as an inside joke in his later endeavors.

To those who have made artistic renditions and descriptions of MGP and his teeny minions, thank you! He and his homies are definitely very cool and when/if he
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
survives the nuking of NYC,
I'd like to have a beer with him. Wink

To those saying after reading reviews/spoilers that the movie will suck hard, I say, asses to you. Keep in mind that the ultimate point of this movie and its fantastic marketing scheme are to provide funding for J.J. Abrams's private yacht in the Caribbean, that is, if he doesn't have one yet. The second point of this movie is to breach new ground; you must realize that Abrams is taking a serious gamble as January is a traditional dumping ground for crappy slasher films and other stinkbombs. Give the guy a little credit, if not all of it!

To those who are so very, very tempted to read those tasty little spoilers, I say, go ahead! Years ago I had a nasty ex-boyfriend who said his favorite movie was "Clerks." Having never seen the movie, I decided to spend an evening reading its script--of course, I loved it--but when I saw the movie it was a completely different experience. Like many things, reading about something and experiencing it are two mutually exclusive ideas.

If you haven't seen the movie yet and haven't scored a magical ticket to an early screening, see you in the theatres on the 18th!

Sorry Katwoman, we've all collectively been given the finger by JJ and crew. In "real time" the monster attacks on January 18th, 2008. Check the pictures on 01-18-08.com. The movie if it takes place in May is essentially OOG by the normal standards we've used since finding 01-18-08.com. It sucks and I'm a little pissed about it. My wife is literally making me go see it since, "you've been obsessed with it for so long".
