All the PMs would have to do to counter the ranting is post a message on Rob's myspace saying his job's been delayed until march. They may still do that after the release of the movie.
Personally I don't care, but the complaints about the timeline may be premature.
If you want backstory about the monster, here it is:
Evidence of the monster is discovered by a drilling company in the middle of the atlantic.
Suspicious activity is leaked about this by insiders from an environmental group.
Monster attacks the oil platform, destroying it.
Monster heads west, attacking an oil tanker in its path.

We still have seven days of events to tie up.
-The Chuai Station got dropped.
-A tanker is missing.
-Slusho is released in US.
-Rob is working and leaving for Slusho in the middle of this month.
-Janice's picture
-Why the monster goes to NY.
Don't worry I think we will get it...
The characters probably simply didn't know. We will understand cuz we've been following this for 6 months. Maybe May is the release of the DVD? Wouldn't it be a more personal, organic feel if you watched a home video at home? Who knows maybe there are two versions at all the theatres one ESPECIALLY for 1-18-08 and the other is the 5/5/08 version to be shown after and before 1-18-08. How sick would that be hear all these rumors then get to the theatre and there it is 1-18-08. this is JJ Abrams so who knows... Did you see his Mystery Box speech on CloverfieldClues.com?

How about a line or 2 in the movie like:
HUD: Man, you like this toasty evening I ordered up special for your party? There's nothing I wouldn't do for my main dude.
Rob: I know right? It's the middle of January and all the hotties can wear their belly shirts for my Big Send off! Talk about global warming?!? *chuckle*
HUD: Seriously, good thing Jamie didn't bring Teddy though or he'd be down our throats for even joking about it..... Al Gore is like his main dude.
I'm a little disgruntled they couldn't have figured this out....

After a nights sleep, a days work, and time to consider my rant posted in the dead of night by a sleep-deprived mind, I have come to the conclusion that...
I'm still pissed. My girlfriend thinks I need to get laid. Maybe we can do something about that.

Well, not so much an "I told you so" But there were a few who maintained that this was never a "game" to begin with.
The whole Ethan Haas thing came out, and people latched it onto this with no basis whatsoever. And people just ran with it and ran with it.
In the minds of many, people wanted it to be an "ARG" and there was no departing from that idea. Now the movie is pretty much out there, why feel betrayed for something not in it's nor it's creator's making.
I thank the makers of this experience. I have had lots of fun following the stories. To just leave us hanging with nothing for 5 months, then bombarding me with tv spot after tv spot with this movie dropping out of the sky cold would have never made me interested.
Doesn't make anyone who wanted the lead-up to this movie to be something it was never meant to be bad people. But why punish this film for your own misconceptions?

That's the point though, if this isn't an ARG and just a VMC then IMO it strips JJ of his genius title and puts hims pretty much squarely in the Hollywood mainstream. Monster movie? Been there done that. Movie shot as from a character's perspective? Heard of Blair Witch Project?
Unique Monster? I'm calling BS on that too cause it sounds an aweful lot like a cross between
and
Lucas > JJ

I believe that can be arranged.

Awkward...
Anyways- Why is everyone surprised about the lack of Tagruato/Slusho??? I mean, Remember the time when Matt Reeves said that the movie could still be watched w/o the ARG/Interactive something something? There is a great big world outside of Unfiction.com guys. And it's filled with people who don't know/don't care about 'ARGs' or any viral campaigns... They just want to enjoy a movie that doesn't leave them wondering what the hell they're talking about. I can settle w/ a passed out Jamie... wait. that's sounds wrong.

I love the fact that I was right about this not being an ARG and just being a cool movie.
Is this the point at which I get to tell all you nerd living in your moms basement "I told you so!"
Yeah, it is.
I told you so.
Helo = winner
Nerds/Geeks = still a bunch of dumbasses.

And how are we supposed to think your attitude makes you anything less than a basement living 'nerd'? What other form of childish being posts "I told you so" in 24 point bold font?
Being a jerkoff is not win. Doesn't make you smart either.
There's a rule here, sorry you never seemed to learn it:
Play Nice.
It would seem the only reason you came here was to spew childish derision against the followers of this viral campaign. Who's the hollow pathetic lifeless one?

it's still an original monster [technically speaking]. i mean, sure it'll probably remind us of something else, but it's still an original. Anyways, I'm sticking up for this movie because No one is doing the smart thing:
HAVE AN OPEN MIND.
