Super Sorry...

Ok, that's all. I am officially out of here. I don't want any more concept or fan art. I wanna see the monster myself.

If anybody gets a real pic of the thing, put it in a thread with a clear title. I'll check that out, but as of now, I want to see the real thing.

Should I even be talking about this?????

Yeah this one that you guys are talking about http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v447/ignatz/album%2034/cloverfield4flat.jpg pretty much is the monster. The face just has to be more "humanoid" and the back has to be smooth. The color is obviously grey as well. Why did they have to go with a humanoid face though? I mean, overall I don't care but it kind of gives it less of a monster feel..you know?

This one is good except for the tail. The tail is more stiff.

perhaps it was to give a more expressive look to it. Something that we can relate to, but altered to such proportion that it draws a bit of fear out of us. Usually things with a 'human-esque' appearance stir our emotions a little more. Aliens, Zombies, Vampires, Werewolves- they all have some quality that strikes a bit of fear in us. As adults, it becomes a repressed/dead fear simply because we have seen aliens, zombies, vampires, werewolves so many times- they're no longer foreign to our senses. But as children; those things were unknown and unnaturally human-esque. Perhaps the creators simply want to stir those emotions up again.

Yea, saw an early screening in Vegas 2 days ago. I'm going to see it again on Friday though, cause it's one of those movies where you're gonna pick up on some new stuff every time.

So the monster is a giant roach with a long flat tail and ball sacks for cheeks?

That's not the monster from what I can tell, looks like someone drew it from what they saw in the movie.

The face is different, yes, the eyes aren't as visible as in that drawing. Also, the red lung things look more lung like than that picture. In that picture they look like....well, you know.

And the tail was stiffer, didn't really twist or turn from what I could tell.

Was the face of the monster too humanoidish for your liking....or did it still feel monster like?

Not too humanoid at all. Very monsterish, but I guess I could see a little human in it. It's a good human effect though, makes it even more chilling. The red lung things also divert it from being to human, as you can see them anytime his face is visible.

I didn't see much of a snout on it, but it's face wasn't completely flat.
