about the title. i thought JJ said that they DIDN'T want to name it cloverfield at first? i thought he said that the original intended name for it was what they were wanting, but since everyone and their mother was calling it cloverfield, that they stuck with it to eliminate confusion or something. then he also said that the original name they had would have made 100000% sense in one particular scene in the movie. it was in one of the interviews with him or something.

I don't know the original name for the movie unfortunately. I know one of them was called "cheese" which would kind of fit for a certain scene but doesn't have much to do with the movie itself. If you can find the title, maybe I can explain it to you...

Greyshot was the intended title.

Greyshot is the name of a bridge in Central Park. It's not too far from Columbus circle.

MAJOR PLOT SPOILER!!!!

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
It's where Rob and Beth hide at the end of the movie.

that's why they were gonna call it Greyshot.

Would have been a B/A name too. And the irony of it all is: the monster's skin is gray.

I would have gladly called the monster "Greyshot" over "Mr. Grumpypants" ANY DAY!

So, this is in fact legit. wow. I apologize for my skepticism.
All I really want to know is if you see the inside of the mouth like
it said in the production notes.
So do you?
Because if not the production crew were pulling our legs.
-_-

dang. you guys operate so fast.

Without giving away any plot details, yes, you can see inside its mouth.

I dont know if anyone noticed, but Mr Toasty has unkowingly found the concept art for the little monsters!!

here is the forum link:

and here is the monster:

That is probably the best view of the creature other than just watching the movie. it even has the "spider-like" eyes that the creatures in the movie have. the only major difference is that the legs of creature in the movie seemed to be a lil...softer. not with an exoskeleton look if that makes sense...

There's nothing there. Just clouds...

The face is way more complex than that. That simply looks like a turtle head to me.

Hey, if anyone has any questions, I saw the movie two days ago at an early screening in Vegas.

I should be here for half an hour or so.

Should I be asking my questions to you in here, or the other thread?

Here is probably better, but don't ask the same questions.

Ok, so the monster has a long neck? And is the monsters head/face small compared to the monsters arms and body?

Long neck? No, not really. His neck sort of blended into his body, much like the drawings.

His head fit to his body much to the scale of Godzilla. I hate comparing the monster to Godzilla, because they are nothing alike, but you know what I mean.
