KidReviewer, are those pictures from the Gainesville showing?

The sign with the smaller sign that read Jan 17th showing on it looks familiar. If so, I was right there with ya buddy Smile

edit: I'm pretty sure of it now, I think I remember the guy in the blue shirt carrying back popcorn and nachos and a bunch of other stuff stacked on top of each other haha.

Even Stevie Wonder can tell that his drawing is awful.

BAMatUF: Hey, I'm the popcorn guy...you host your crew for a monumental screening and they still make you get the food...GO GATORS! Smile

I've also posted my Cloverfield review (with spoilers).

so, why do you think Taserville/Titleville for this early, early screening?

Also, with all the gripes about drawing quality, anyone care to share some edits/improvements to refine? I shared some ideas at my post, but simply can't remember many details -- that's what I get for jumping during the attack scenes. Confused

Monster in trailer, now that I know what I'm looking at.

Now that I know what I'm looking for, I wanted to look back at the trailers and see if I could recognize anything that could help share info about the monster.

There's not much, the editors were slick as we know, but check out this photo from the apple trailer. It's when the jets are shooting missiles at it, and although he's fuzzy in the sequence, you should clearly be able to see his bulk, and general size in this image. He's the mottled grey that is in the center of the image, just beyond the fire. This is him in his crawling height, probably on 3 legs, with a fourth reaching up. The fourth would be in a position of his right shoulder. He would be facing us. He can rise up higher than would be indicated in the screen shot, but not too much more. He seems to have the ability to leap when he wants too, which as bullish thing when you are as big as the superdome.

I believe this shot was when HUD was on the roof of a building, and although the trailer doesn't show it, the creature makes his way up the avenue towards the camera. Unfortunately at this point, just when you thought you'd get a great view, HUD is scared and won't look that way. He does that a few times, to your anger. The creature really is kinda hard to describe, even remember clearly, so I can't wait to go again and just focus on the visuals. It will be nice after the movie as run it's course to see the artists concept drawings for clear definition.

I've outlined the part that would be the monster and faded out the rest so you can see the general space he's taking up. Again, the shots of him are always blurry, but that's him. They were dropping bombs on him, missils, you name it. Don't expect him to take it nicely though. Smile

sorry my drawings on the review at www.kidreviewer.com are so crummy. Still too exhausted to rebuild them, and not sure how good I'd do anyway. I definitely has some things wrong in my art. His head is more turtle or fish like, with a neck that seems elongated at times. My drawing looks more monkey like. And his arms come from behind his back in a weird way, and not as skinny as I made them last night.

Thanks Kid! That was very helpful. Very Happy So where would his head be in this shot, is he looking this way, up, left?

The Zerg Picture and the Stop Picture from the #16th Commercial...

So...do you see it...long neck and head to your viewing left? and long flat tail up and to your right?

Sorry about the double first picture!

That's pretty darn cool. I'd say yes, there are similarities to that face. Honestly it's hard to be too accurate, becuase no one wants to stand around taking portrait shots straight of it's face. But I remember trying to capture my thoughts about thinking it looked a little turtle-ish, with the extended neck. i also thought I saw something in the face that was kinda beak like, like a snapping turtle or octopus beak, but it def has teeth. It has a protruding lower jaw for sure. That image does have some resemblance.

So to you....did its face look too humanoidish? Or did it still possess a monster like face?

retract on zerg

I'm backing off on the zerg comparison. They ACT like zerg, really fast, in numbers, but don't really look like those pics. Maybe more like some of the bugs in StarshipTroopers. They are really crablike, perhaps a spidercrab, but I think they also have a head something akin to a small alien.

They are about the size of medium dogs, fast, and aggressive. Needless to say, when there's a scene with them in it, no one is sitting around knitting. They don't dominate the movie, but do cause trouble.
