So I'm assuming he's referring to the Club suit to the fourth power (on the backwards letter, after his signature)? Interesting.

Also, what film is he talking about? The 'ghost' thing? I think I've missed that detail entirely.

Hope this jogs someone's mind! (I'm so stumped .. haha).

As well as the C4, there is a circle overlapping a rectangle - any idea what that means? Can the 'gentlemen' speak up if he reads this?!

As far as a film is concerned, I was put more in mind of 2001: A Space Odyssey

Perhaps the bit about Red Dragon uses the same type of code mentioned in the book. Page number, word number, sentence number, etc.

I have found a journal entry, the first, in the generator room. I am among you.

He asked me what I knew about symmetry in regards to the Golden Section, also known as the Golden Ratio.

Mathematics is not my specialty, so this didn't help me much.

Aaaand the green screen also says "There are patterns in the chaos...symmetries..."

(clueless)

This Golden Section is a number discored by Platão or Aristóteles. This is a number that garantee the perfection of things.

hope it helps...

The rectangle and circle are supposed to represent an envelope. We're supposed to e-mail him or whatever with our questions. (I wondered about that too, don't feel bad; haha!)

Yeah I was looking at that for awhile, but to no avail. Along with finding symmetry in the chaos of the computer screen, and the whole "3 after 1, 14 after 3" thing, there has to be a clue in there somewhere.

*EDIT: I'm on vent at the moment if anyone wants to brainstorm. =)

random musings...

hmmm...it's all sitting right there ready to smack us in the face, yet none of us can quite understand 4d, can we?

random thoughts that have come to the surface, going through the page, which may or may not apply:

3 numbers after 1=4
14 after 3=17
17+4= 21, perfect to get in black jack.
maybe we should apply this to computer code (?)

there's possible red dragon references, but also slight nods to "Ghost in the Machine", "space oddyssey", etc., where humanity and machine interfaces interact. the red dot you have to click on to gain access to the encrypted journel is reminiscent of HAL 2000

I wonder what the potions the queen are having him whip up do...

humph. his lab monkey seems like a slight split personality. but I'm most likely wrong. he just gives off the "eccentric scientist" vibe.

once again, all random thoughts that I felt a compulsive need to contribute.

Hahaha. I e-mailed him again and I have a feeling I might've gotten a little snarky. Whoops!

Anyway, he likes to tell us about 'the golden ratio', but I haven't been able to apply it to that jumble on his 'error' page. I hope someone else is seeing something I'm not.

I have realized. The nautilus. How could we have been so stupid for so long? I am, once again, among you. Spirals, spirlas; they are the key. Out and out again in a most inefficient way. Take out all the symbols and condense next to a single entry. Then unwind and transcribe.

I'm sort of getting what you're saying, but not really. Can you show me?

I mentioned this in chat before too, but it doesn't work -- we need to have a book from which we reference, and the code itself doesn't adhere to the 'code' used in Red Dragon:

Quote:
Dear Pilgrim,

You're very beautiful (here's our 'clue')

'I offer one hundred prayers for your safety. Find help in John 6:22, 8:16 9:1; Luke 1:7, 3:1; Galatians 6:11. 15:2; Acts 3:3; Revelations 18:1; Jonah 6:8...

Signed: 'Bless you, 6:6:6'

One of the investigators then tells Graham: "'One hundred prayers' could be the page number. The paired numbers and the scriptural references could be line and letter. But what book?"

The ONLY way I see this possibly working (and we might be on to something here) is if we reference the journal pages. He writes them like '2.1' and '3.3' etc. If someone wants to scramble through those and find out how that'd work (and then apply it to the backwards letter?) a password might suddenly pop-up.

I'd do it myself, but I'm still at work. Lol.
