ok the letters...

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
are ROT-20.

vkx = per (7)
gxzky = artes (44)
otbktzgy = inventas (75)
kdiuraoyyk = excoluisse (97)
bozgs = vitam (39)
pabgz = juvat ( 98 )

or, "Inventas vitam juvat excoluisse per artes" which translates to:
"inventions enhance life which is beautified through art"

put in the right order, the numbers then become
75 - 39 - 98 - 97 - 7 - 44

that's as far as I've got...

another loose translation is
"And they who bettered life on earth by new found mastery."
which i think fits considering

I get the feeling that we will be using this intel here

I never would have got that, nice thebruce. I first I thought it might have been an anagram. I figured it was important though.

I enhanced the image of the newspaper a bit, in hopes to make the date clearer, but I didn't do too much. I believe though that it's June 12th, 2011.

I sent them a feedback too, asking them to take a picture of the Moon.

Hmmm indeed. I had seen it before it was edited, I wonder why they did that.

maybe they want people to figure it out on their own? I'm not sure why else they would take the answer down.

I've set up a wiki for the extended reality component (there's already lots of resources for the show itself, but couldn't find anything covering enitech and the web-related stuff Razz)

Got it: http://dysontrust.org/

Haven't had a chance to check it out, but on first pass there is a member login area that we might need to breech.

You can also submit a grant application to fund research, so that could be a possible point of interaction.

I'll post more if I find anything else.

Sweet! We found Dysonggroup.org last night but it seemed to have been taken down (my guess is a real Dyson Group didn't like the implication or maybe they didn't want to confuse people w/ that and the group in find815)

When I sent a message to the doc about it he said

Quote:
I believe they've moved to more up to date site.

so I guess that would be it.

and just in case it spurs someone on it the right direction the wild spec we banged our head against last night was that since the quote is back on the nobel chem and physics prizes the numbers might stand for years (with a particular eye on physics since that was anna's major)
here are all the winners for those years
http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=pNki1ZdyK3G9gnHLIUac1fQ&hl=en
here is the chem and physics ones and just the physics one on the right
http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=pNki1ZdyK3G-hwacWm1ihdQ&hl=en

some spoilered spec involving the tv show and the dysontrust
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Dyson's daughter was cut from the movie and has not been shown in the tv show but she is specifically mentioned on the dyson trust site. She has my vote on being the new creator of SkyNet

Nice find on the Dyson Trust guys! I know in some games there as been some discussions over wether some things are considered hacking of not or wethere the hacking is in or out of game, but in this case, in the members of the Gardner Porject login part, we're supposed to find a password for it, right? Otherwise, why put that there in the first place?

yes this login seems very much custom made, not a 3rd party app login for content management, for example (like wordpress or a website's ftp). So I'd say it's definitely something to look for...

well here's the list of winners from the official site for the years (assuming 1900's, in 'corrected' order) above, plus a summary of what we know about the supposed code...

Code:
Letters are ROT-20, for jumbled words in a latin phrase.
The Latin phrase:
   "Inventas vitam juvat excoluisse per artes"
Literal translation:
   "Inventions enhance life which is beautified through art"
Loosely:
   "And they who bettered life on earth by new found mastery."

-------------------------

original number sequence (no starting point):
   75-44-7-98-39-97
corrected number sequence (by latin phrase):
   75-39-98-97-7-44

The latin phrase appears on the three Swedish nobel awards:
   Physics and Chemistry,
   Medicine or Physiology,
   Literature

this is running on the theory that Anna encrypted her password for the secure project site on dysontrust.org. We don't know her login name, however (most likely variants would be a play on her name - annakies, akies, anna, annak, etc)

and this is her bio from the team page, in case there's something useful that's personal to her as a clue
Quote:
- Senior Manager Special Projects.
Ms. Kies undergraduate studies at Harvey Mudd College were followed by a post-doctoral degree from MIT in Physics. Anna joined EniTech from Baltimore where she was studying with Dr. Jonathan Thompson in London dispersion forces. Her multipole expertise has helped shape EniTech's collector schematics and now her concentration is on increasing overall image resolution. The relocation to the Bay Area brings along her very old (but loyal) dog Bounder.

(emphasis mine - clue?)

I was thinking the same thing (bounder) so I tried it with different Anna Kies usernames (as some thebruce suggested) but no luck yet. Going to try with some of those nobel prize winners. I was thinking the ones of the year she was born but I guess we don't have that either.

Yeah, I've been trying to get into that area also....

I figured that the password could have been an acrostic formed from the names of the (physics) laureates in the given years.

So far, nothing...

And, yes, I thought bounder was a dead giveaway for her password.

Oh well.
