Look, buddy, not only do you use easily-flammable large font, but you completely miss the point of this place - which is to speculate. Say it with me now, it's fun - speculate.

So what if some theories, like this (as Eddy admits) shot-in-the-dark 'Aphynos' name, are wild and unlikely? As long as they are theories that promote friendly and thoughtful debate, like this one did on MGP's real name, it's all well and good.

Not only that, you see everything Eddy does (let's keep in mind here, Eddy's a long-serving, stalwart member of this forum who's done a lot more than sit around, speak in large font and piss everyone off, which is what you're doing) as troll promotion. The Effect is an obviously out-of-game blog, which keeps people up to speed on the ARG - and anyone who doesn't think that obviously didn't notice all the links to Unfiction on the page. It's OOG FOR A REASON. It isn't gamejacking. This thread is also Spec, for the reasons I outlined above.

And now you're telling me that you want JJ or Reeves to tell you what the monster's name is before you believe it? What are you, eight? Do you want an adult in charge's blessing on everything before you believe it? Are you still holding out that Jamie vs. Teddy and Tidowave are OOG because JJ or Reeves haven't told us they're IG? Look, until we're told by anyone credible what the monster's name is, all we've got is speculation. Theories. Which is what this place is about. Theories and discoveries. Theories lead to discoveries, genius.

Oh, btw, in case you hadn't noticed, dude, this thread's been up since November 23, 2007 - when we had a very decent lead that this could be name through an article released IG by a Dr. Takashi Abe, and basic deduction led us to that name. Of course, it may have been wrong (and it appears that is so), but this thread's been going for two months, and has stimulated some good discussion on names. It was a spec. This is exactly why people accepted that it could be a plausible idea - in case you hadn't noticed, Eddy only pushed it as a possibility, not as gospel truth, which you seem so eager to twist. Nobody's being a puppet.

I think you're the one with "delusions of grandeur", tukmol. It was SPEC. SPEC SPEC SPEC SPEC SPEC. I cannot stress that enough. No-one was trying to brainwash JJ into calling MGP Aphynos. You're just being a nasty little troll, thinking you're superior to everyone else who has been here far, far longer than you.

American monsters seem to have very simple names, like King Kong or The Wolf Man or It. The general American doesn't like things that are hard to pronounce.

In reality, if it never gets a real name, that would be the best thing ever. Simply the Cloverfield Monster wouldn't be bad in my opinion. And, if it's something like that, then the fans can give it a nick name like MGP. If they don't give it a real name and we use MGP enough, it will definitely be well-known in the diehard circles, and, due to hyper-usage, be seen in casual fan circles as well. Everybody wins! Also, thanks to whoever came up with Mr. Grumpypants!
