One thing I'm curious about: Does the monster "feel" huge? I know I keep hearing 35-40 stories, but somehow, the reviews don't paint it to be a truly gigantic creature as far as movie monsters go. What was your sense of that? Was this the kind of thing that could knock over a building by punching it? Compare it to Godzilla's size, if you will. Smile

Thanks for the spoilers!

The helicopter scene was the best jump.

The tunnel scene with the little buggers was also great how it was laid out:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
They're in the dark and hear noises and then flip on the night vision and see them crawling everywhere around them

No problem, I love spoilers too it usually gets me more into the movie.

Ok, the size. Screw whatever your mom told you, size does matter. I really wanted this monster to be 100 stories tall.

It WAS huge and you see it almost as tall as 60 story buildings at times. But here in some scenes it felt smaller....like 20 story size. Like when it is about to
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
eat Hud
it doesnt look that large.

I think they just went with whatever characteristics of the monster would help a particular scene the most and either downplayed or amped up his size.

But it felt big enough to take a fucking direct bomb from a stealth fighter and fall against and knock over a tall office building.

Compared to Godzilla? Probably as tall or a bit taller if it stood up completely but to Godzilla's stomach in it's all fours position.

Why is the helicopter scene intense? How about the bridge scene, that looks cool. Shocked

Thanks again -- these are the kind of spoilers I've been waiting for!

Few more questions, if you have time!

1) Can you go into more detail about the scene where you see the monster rub against the building to shake off the little monsters? Is it clear that that's what he's doing at the time, or do you only find out later? Is Hud like "wtf?" while filming that?

2) Rate the "Hazmat scene": 1-10. Is it like a throwaway scare or some serious shite? Smile

3) Does the monster make roaring sounds similar to what we've been hearing in the trailers/sites for all this time?

The helicopter scene is great because it feels like a rescue and you have a great view of
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
the monster being directly bombed by a stealth fighter, get really fucked up and fall againsit a building, smoke cloud rises and his face just appears out of nowhere next to the copter before he smashes it. Coe to think of it, I think Rob's brother's girl is the only one to get away. I think she was in the other copter.

Fun Philly fact: Rob's brother- Jason- is from the Philly suburbs. He was in Texas Chainsaw, it was kind of a big deal here.

1) That scene of him shaking the fleas off was on the tv when they were in the video store. The soldiers were atacking it, it shakes the fleas off and the soldiers were more like :WTF? AHHHHHHGHH!" and the reporter was kind of like, "We dont know what is happening here."

2)Hazmat scene...like a 6. Maybe because I knew what it was. I was telling the person next to me, "watch this shit...". Basically
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
she explodes quickly and the ilitary guy drags Hud and crew away and explains that there's nothing they can do.

3) Yeah he is pretty much roaring constantly. But it didnt sound as epic as the trailer. Maybe I've been desensitized. The earthquake like foot steps were the real shaker in the theater.

So does the monster make a bunch of footprints in Central Park chasing the remaining survivors of the group, so that when looked at from above looks like a "Cloverfield"

Bridge scene I liked because it felt real and it reminded me of when NYC transit went on strike and people walked over the bridge to work last year. It is great when theyre on the bridge and you hear massive splashing sounds and you kind of know what's coming next. But you don't really see the monster attack the bridge, just experience the effects.

That's intersting because someone else who saw the movie said you see the monsters back when he walks away from the bridge.

and can you answer my questions please... I have to go soon thanks again!

Oh, and that wasnt ment to contradict you.

How about the scene in the subway. Does it scare you and make you feel intense. Do you think the night vision makes it cooler and more realistic? Very Happy
