 		The movie used as a case file theory. (Possible spoilers?)
How in the world do dead people write MySpace comments?!
Okay, for everyone who doesn't know about the crazy time shift thing, turn around and walk out now. I have read many many posts and have seen the spoilers and all of that and I don't care, but I know some people do, so there...I said my peace.

Now, if the military is using the tapes of the party as a case against Tagruato or whatever the heck some of the posts I have seen claim, and if the time stamps of the cameras and the pictures don't occur until the moment they are looked at, AND if the events of the movie actually take place in May of last year or whenever the hell it was, then who is writing the MySpace pages? Does that mean that the spirits of all the people we know are characters in the movie are dead and are somehow communicating to us from BEYOND THE GRAVE?

Seriously. If these people have been dead since May, then why are there MySpace posts in January that talk about events that supposedly take place in May as if they are to take place in the middle of January? It just does not make sense. Why would they go through all of this marketing with the videos of the monster attacks and the time-stamped pics and the MySpace pages just to do a 180 and say this is all something that happened a long time ago and we are just now finding out? Bad call, Paramount. Bad call indeed.

That kind of viral marketing needs to be done far better than this. It worked for The Blair Witch only because what happened in that movie didn't happen on such a massive scale as this movie and they did the internet much more subtley and realistic than this. If everything they are showing us and telling us about the movie is really what it is and all the times are correct for what is happening at the time it really does happen, then we are dealing with a movie so far removed into alternate reality that I doubt even Stephen Hawkings could reason his way out of it.

 		Well the movie might have taken place May this year, but that wouldn't make any sense with the rest of the ARG.

God they screwed up the time line with the movie.

 		Until I see the movie, I'm unsure about the date thing. If the attack happens in May, it's impossible for it to be last year. Time shift or no, news reporters wouldn't show footage of Chuai being destroyed (clearly dated as Dec. 27, 2007) and have no clue as to what is doing it! If MGP destroyed NYC in May 2007...I'm pretty sure news reporters would have a good idea of what wrecked Chuai.

Not to mention that times and dates are seen frequently throughout the VMC...from blog postings, to the dates on all Tag news and Tido blogs, to the myspaces to the time stamps on the 1-18-08 photos. I doubt that time control is in MGP's arsenal....

 		I think the movie takes place in May 2008, and that the ARG is going to continue until then. I also think that is around the time the DVD comes out, and then on the DVD we get alot of answers about Jamie, Slusho! and Targuato.

 		Yeah i totally see them continuing the ARG. There was so much left open at the end...

recovery of the tape, monster's whereabouts/status, Lily's possible survival...
they really could easily continue this until the DVD, then sum it up really well in a nice fan-approved package.

 		Actually, I didn't think this post was totally about the theory of the film as used in the other post. I have read that post and felt what I wanted to say would just throw that topic off of it's course. My point in my writing this was if that theory is correct, then why would the marketing team at Paramount go through all of the trouble to make and support MySpace pages for dead people? Why would they market the movie for a certain date, and then change it on us at the last second? I thought that the subject of the MySpace pages and the messed up time between the movie and the marketing could have been important enough to warrant it's own topic. I guess not. Sorry.
