[QUESTION] Who was the widow widowed from?

It seems likely that the Widow refers to SPDR. At which point the reference becomes clear... a Black Widow Spider.

It's kinda moot now - that was the mystery of the opening chapter. We figured out that The Widow was the SPDR self-repair process (an autonomous section of The Operator).

Now, SPDR is continuing to repair. The Operator is angry because it's acting TOO autonomous.
