Let me ask you this: if you were an AI, and someone repeatedly tried to delete you, how would you feel towards them?

Not only that, but a confused, damaged AI, still under repair, half-insane, scared, and unaware that you're trapped in the year 2004 rather than your own time.

The Operator is lashing out at the first thing it percieves as 'the enemy' Only problem is that there's no possible way of it doing any harm to Dana. Due to the nature of our internet and lack of integrated home technology, it can't do anything.

I'd probably feel a bit... "patchy" ... towards them

Sorry. I felt the need for a Windows patch pun.

I won't do it again. Promise.

Bah. A little humour is good! Better than the crazy contradictory theories that everyone is throwing around right now before we've even catalogued our new evidence.

we CANNOT trust Dana because she is the one trying to kill Aunt M.
i know this because she was the one who jacked the site to try and get in contact with Dana. (resources from broken emails) Dana is trying to kill her, and when she does she is going to escape to China....or so she thinks

No need for apologies in regards to puns. I made a rather bad one in the beelog thread. Very Happy

Hadn't thought of it from that prespective. For that matter, if I had tried to delete an AI that then took my pic and labled me killer, I would probably be as nervous as Dana.

exactly! unless... she hacks into the airplane's computer en route to China and diverts Dana mid-flight right into the middle of the Pacific Surprised or maybe the military, calls in an air-strike on Dana's house

Well, one would assume that by the time it gains enough power to call resources from around the planet like that, then it'll actually comprehend the situation it's in, and realise that it has (somehow) gone back in time.

Okay - the time-travel element is clear and present here. The AI here clearly expects the average house to have much higher-grade technology than it's finding, and seems disgusted at the quality of networking available to it.

Hence, it's from the future. The memories it has regarding ONI officers discussing a planet that they have to sit back and watch being 'glassed' (primary technique of the Covenant fleet) are proof of that.

We needed evidence of the Halo link. We've got it in droves.

Dana was trying to fix Auntie Em's website. In the process, she deleted some of the Operator's memories. The Operator (Melissa?) didn't like that too much, so she decided to attack Dana. The Widow, in a more mindless way, doesn't appreciate being interfered with.

The Sleeping Princess, via email, seems to like Dana and to not like the Widow and the Queen / Operator / Melissa.
