I have two simple questions.
1. Do the pictures from www.1-18-08.com happen in TIME stamp order. Talking the time on the pictures not the date stamp. Ignore the ones that have no time/date stamp.
2. Could everything happen, in those time stamp pictures, happen in the 47 minutes that they show? Something like from 12:01 AM to 12:48 AM.
Guess I should spoiler mask these answers...
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Disregard the pictures, honestly. They don't "transpire" in the movie. They're just photos that represent the party...in the film, those exact setups do not actually happen. But, in terms of gathering a general idea of party-gone-awry, they make sense.
While I'm at it, some people have talked about Jamie being passed out on the couch. I'm not willing to say with 100% certainty that it was her. Could it have been? Totally, but it wasn't obvious to me.[spoiler]

Oh yeah what happens after there at the convienece store? Remember when the glass shatters and you hear footsteps.

JJ said it was meant to be that. You're a veteran, been here a while. I know you've read that interview where he says he was in Japan with his kid looking at Godzilla toys and decided that we needed an "American" Godzilla.
So, yes, according to the producer and creator, it was supposed to be exactly that.
I totally get that, and yes, I know what JJ said in the interview. But it's NOT that, plain and simple. The movie didn't set out to establish this monster and set him up for his own franchise...not by a long shot. The monster is only seen for a few minutes total screentime...you just can't compare that to other monster flicks where the creatures are the focus most of the way through.

Not a major scene, really. They head in there to avoid the falling building debris, monster seems to pass or go away, and they go back out. Marlena isn't in there, so when they head back outside, it's inferred that she saw it because she's all freaked out. Right around there is when they decide to go to the Brooklyn Bridge, and that's when stuff really starts falling apart.

For the people who have seen it, how do you feel about Rob as the main character--or more like the anti-hero? Just wondering because from the clips he seems to be the character I like the least, but yet he's the main dude.

So as far as creating our own monster "Icon", you'd say this movie fails? Not gonna sell many action figures then, huh?

No end music? I find it odd that the one you saw did not have ending music. The prescreening I just saw tonight in Orlando did. It was an insturmental, played the entire end credits. I did not hear a whisper at the end, more like noise of the camera being moved in the dark.

He's fine. He's the "straight man" for the most part. The side story with him and Beth is told fairly quickly, so even if you're not into it, it's not like you have to sit through a lot of that. Hud is way more colorful/memorable. I'm going to assume that some people will dislike the Hud character since he seems to decrease the overall terror factor in what's happening, but I just loved him.

I think he is saying don't buy stock.
IMHO I think that by not showing MGP much, allows for more sequels.

I did not stay until the very end of the end credits, but I saw enough to say with confidence that there was no music. There were a few light sound effects, but nothing too enormous. Saying it was "silent" may be an exaggeration, but not by much.

After reader several spoilers and reviews, it sounds like HUD is more the main person, just not on camera. Or atleast he steals the show.

When I see Godzilla, i know what he is. When someone asks me to describe Godzilla, it's easy. Same with Kong. NO BODY can describe this thing, or give any details about it. How is THIS supposed to be our monster "Icon"?
Having seen it, one thing is for sure: This is a movie about an EVENT, and NOT a movie about a monster. The monster isn't charming, isn't well defined, doesn't have many memorable traits outside of its freaky appearance...to call it an icon akin to Kong or Godzilla is totally off for sure. It's simply not meant to be that .
Sounds like JJ has failed yet again.

I just think it was more about the destruction and panic and "what the hell do you do when something like this happens" rather than the monster itself. It wouldn't surprise me to learn later than the one true "reveal" was shot at the very end or even after principle shooting, because it almost seemed...dare I say...tacked on? Not to say that I didn't appreciate having one clear look at it, but I really don't think I would've been pissed if I didn't see it. Things are always "bigger" when they're left to your imagination. Hell, that's why there seems to be so many people griping about this-and-that now that they know what's what. We've had a lot of months to imagine things.
Don't take this to mean that the monster isn't big, cool or effective, because it totally is. It's just that I preferred the shots where you see him wrecking stuff off in the distance. When it gets intimate, it just didn't feel quite as awesome.

Did your showing have the Star Trek teaser attached? If so, what did you think?

There was no Star Trek trailer. This was an official press screening...there were no previews or "Be Quiet and Throw Your Trash Out" PSAs before the movie rolled.
