"Humor me" the Castaway said, playing | music in his room. Ancient music. Jazz and swing | all in the mood. "Melissa," he said, "Have a drink with me." | I don't drink, but I asked for something anyway and sat | holographically and drank with him. He wasn't | regular crew. Just along for the ride. We picked him up in | deepspace where he deployed bouys, sending out waves of sound | to confuse the enemy. A man that seemed | noble, classical and pure. A sailor with | Odysseus. He told stories about soldiers caught | waist deep in water, facing the enemy, their backs to | the Sea. "Melissa". He called me Melissa, never | used my nickname. "It's a sad thing I'm Married. | You could break my heart." The weather was stormy. Scratched vinyl and | all of us, a long way from home. I felt real. |

still needs some tweaking, yes?

No. That feels more natural. Why would the AI be married? It must be a salor. Odysseus may also be a ship.

melissa

The complete combination was genious. The Queen/Operator has a name now; Melissa. She "felt real", did something holographically, REALLY implies the AI. She talks of her crew - she is the operator of a ship.

So; Melissa = Queen = Operator. We reach her through ladybee777SPLAThotmail.com. She feels Dana is a killer - which is perfectly understandable. She has captured images of Dana through Dana's own webcam.

The SPDR will never communicate with us - it is a task, not an entity.

Good work, guys.

last one seems to be most natural indeed.

I'm updating the wiki accordingly with that version for now.

moving the " before It's a sad thing I'm married, makes it in the Sailors words...makes it make sense to why she now feels real Smile

I think you should also add something to take the ideas that have come across in the later half of the thread about the context of the link, and that we believe Melissa to be an AI and the queen.

We're talking about a highly fragmented AI at the moment, and we have no clear idea what its 'rules' are.

It's speculatory, but I believe that the AI might be made up of a series of parts....

Queeen/Melissa - dominant personality of the AI, the product of the other components plus additional programming (shows a lot of anger and could be on the verge of rampancy?)

Widow/SPDR - mechanical construct designed to maintain the Queen, both to put the Queen back together, but possibly also to keep it in check (prevent rampancy?)

Princess/Original Melissa(?) - core personality that the AI is based on from, more 'innocent' and probably does not contain whatever programming has been added to the Queen

Flea - Dunno yet. If the flea is human, could this be the original person that Melissa was copied from?

Anyone know how to make all the URLs (like http://www.qis.net/~truth/i_don't_drink_why_should_i_care.htm) work in the Wiki? Some of them are broken and I tried to fix them but I' no Wiki-whizz...

Consider moving "scratched vinyl" into the same line with the ancient music, jazz and swing: such as scratched vinyl and ancient music, jazz and swing. Also, since the last version I saw had thrown away 'in the mood' - try this: scratched vinyl and ancient music, jazz and swing, "In the Mood"

The phrases are in sets of 3 -- scratched vinyl came with You Could Break My Heart, not with Ancient Music.

That is, the page gave 3 sets of 7 links. Each 7-link set resulted in a phrase, and this story results from keeping the 3 phrases in order for each page we got.
