[Spoiler]I saw it! It's Alive! It Ruled! Am I the only one who liked the movie? lol I just got back from the prescreening in Houston at the Edwards theater on Weslayan and I must say that the movie was amazing! I can understand how it could be polarizing, but aside from a few moments of nausea towards the beginning I think the movie was awesome! Been a long time since I was breathless due to a movie and it happened on multiple occasions! I am going to post a picture of all the great gear I picked up and open myself up for any questions you guys may have. Ask away!

Is the final scene a flashback of Beth and Rob on the beach?
Also is there a remote chance you actually saw the monster AND can somehow summon the ability to actually describe it...simply and accurately?

How does the movie start? Are there credits in the end? An easter egg after the end credits?

Reeves said it would be obvious why the movie is called "Cloverfield". Was it obvious?

I'll be glad to try
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
About the beach thing I am not exactly sure. I know that at the end they are at Coney Island (there are parts of their trip at random parts of the film when Hud turns the cam off and it reverts to the old recordings) And it looked to me like they are on a Ferris Wheel or possible the Tea Cups (which they mention earlier in the movie), although I didn't notice if anything fell into the water in the back. So I can't tell you if that statement Olimango made is true or not. As for the monster this is the best description I can give:
It has a dark gray skin and very long arms ending in 3 or 4 fingered hands. Seems like they also have pads on the end of each finger sort of like a frog. It's rear section including its pelvis and back legs are much smaller than the rest of it and it seems to mainly use the front arms as a means of locomotion, unless he is swinging his arms around. The arms are very long and when it is walking on all fours its elbows actually stay over it's head. It's back is arched upwards (not swayback, the opposite) also. People have said that the face looks humanoid which I agree with to a point, but to be honest I think it looks more ape-like in a deceiving way. You get a good 30 second shot of MGP from below and then dead on in the face towards the end of the movie and when he looks dead on at the camera it looks almost like a hairless Gorilla like face with Slits for nostrils, beady black eyes set to the side of its head and a large Red-orange sac inflating and deflating on each side of its head, behind its temples. The reason I say it's deceiving is because when MGP opens it's mouth you realize what looked like slit like nostrils was actually a part of it's mouth (which is shaped very much like the Ogrefish and when closed the line of the mouth resembles a "w")

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The movie starts with Rob in Beth's house, apparently after sleeping with her. He is walking through her living room with a camera. He shoots the city outside through a couple of windows and then moves over to a shelf she has in her home with a picture of her and her family. He then goes in and wakes her up, she's in bed naked (no nudity though). They talk a bit about how she's never been to Coney Island (which is why they go) and he tries to throw fruit into her mouth (I think it was strawberries) After that for a bit she takes the camera from him and shoots him for a few seconds in his underwear sitting on the bed.

To be honest I still have no clue why. It definitely wasn't obvious.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I answered how the movie starts already so I will answer the others. Yes there are credits with an ending theme song called Roar! that is given proper credit at the end, although I cannot remember the composer's name. I remember it sounded italian. At the end There WAS A WHISPER. We didn't quite make it out, but it sounded almost exactly like the EVP from that one movie "White Noise" the one that says "Get Out of my House". My friend Catt (an avid movie buff like me) Thinks it said "Help Me" but I feel there were more syllables to it

Well the three people I went with all understood from the get go that there was a lot unanswered in the movie. To be honest I think that was the appeal to me. There was alot to fill in with the imagination. I am into that sort of thing. Still my fiance was like "I was looking the entire time for a field of clovers somewhere and it just wasn't there." lol
