Re: 4.5 out of 5

I agree, saw it last night at screening, Gave it 4 out of 5!

Reason only a 4

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
These dropped it a point for me.

1) Amount of time monster was shown-Now granted they only had 35mil to work with not 100.Budget probably stalled this! -.50 point

2) Length of movie- 84 minutes (back to the budget again probably) -.25 point

3) No origin,Tido,Tag or Jamie reference. (Personal reason-probably most forum people will be alittle upset about it) -.25 point

Now if they had that 100million to make it and added the longer time & footage of MGP would be a 4.75!

Monster design, parasites, graphics, acting & effects were all awesome! Thats why a solid 4 out of 5!

Check out rottentomatoes. Unforunately, the critics see it differently. But meh, critics are jaded anymore. If a movie doesn't have deep meaning and a purpose (i.e. documentaries and foreign flicks), they get blasted. meh..

I'm glad the fans like it. Razz

Rotten Tomatoes only has six reviews counted, so not nearly enough to make a guess onto what the final rating will be. A lot of the more positive ones haven't even been counted yet.

Here's the link to Rotten Tomatoes...we can monitor Cloverfield's progress (or lack therof) here:

http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/cloverfield/

Looks like it's about 50/50 to this point...and probably how will end up.

If you look at the RT numbers for currently released movies, you'll notice that most of them have really bad ratings.
Looks as if the critics don't like much of anything... Laughing
