I think it will be mostly a cult following, but some people who aren't immersed in the whole Cloverfield 'experience' will love it too.

Cult following. Critics already hate it.

Critics don't count. They're not 'people' like us. Wink

i swear critics wouldn't recognize a good time at the movies even if it bitch-slapped them in the face.

olimango, you thought it was a good movie didn't you?

Of course I did. But I knew I was going to like it before I even saw it.

Going by early reviews, I don't think the movie is going to be popular critically.

While I think it will do pretty good box-office business in it's first weekend...it'll probably drop out of sight after that.

The hardcore fans of the movie will see it multiple times...giving it the cult following.

However...I do think it will do huge business on DVD...especially of they put some really good extras on it.

Where is the critics don't like it impression coming from? Are you people reading a different internet?

The negative reviews that I've seen are by far in the minority, and every one that was took to skating on some pretty thin ice in an effort to explain their displeasure.

Has any critic "liked" the movies/films/TV shows that garner a heavy following?
