the Gardner Project
an email received from Enitech Research

Quote:

We received this email from Frank Bently of Enitech Research. I know this must mean something...but what?

If anyone could help me on this that would be great.

The email, and the resulting webpage, are discussed on Page 7

Ha! I Guess We're Being Too Slow...

The Enitech blog has a post officially announcing the lab's association with the Dyson Trust. The post hotlinks us to the trust's website...

Good thing we were already in the know...

I was just about to post that - if you click on the image it takes you to a larger future version, but you can substitute A for B in the URL to see a larger version of the "present" image:

http://enitechlabs.com/blog/wp-content/g61a.jpg

At first blush there's nothing useful in either image but I've been wrong before.

Another thing I noticed is that David Baltimore was a prizewinner for Medicine in 1975 and that Anna is from Baltimore. Medicine is one of the disciplines whose medal has the Latin phrase. I may be reading too much into a coincidence but one never can tell. At the moment I'm looking for other links between staff members and the list...

If you flip the image, it looks like the bus has the numbers 10474 written on the bottom, that could mean something.

direct link to the "future" image posted above.

I'm pretty certain the thing in the picture is a HK Centurion, one of Skynet's ground mobile units during the war.

The prize winners

I checked out the physics nobel winners last night. There is no single piece that connects them all. A nuber of them went to MIT , but thats sort of to be expected, and it wasnt all of them at any rate. Meanwhile a few had direct links to Niels Bohr, but agin not all. I noticed that they all won nobels for work that would directly help build the device. Of course I'm not a physics expert, but they all seemed to relate to this device almost specifically.

I noticed one thing that may not matter, but I'll spoiler just in case

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Jacob Gustar's info says he's a celebrity at Isochronus Cyclotrons.
1939 physics prize winner Ernest Lawrence invented cyclotrons, if i read it right last night. Perhaps he's Jacob's password.

I just dont have time at the moment to try the combinations...if someone wants to try it great...if not i will when i get home.[/strike]

The Hexagon - further speculation...

It looks as though you're meant to rotate the hexagon... I say that because the numbers aren't on the same "plane" as their corresponding words...

It was the number 7 that made me first think this. If you look at it in relation to vkx/per, it's upsidedown. This makes me think that, although they are paired, the 7 might actually correspond with the word opposite it, "kdiuraoyyk" or "excoluisse".

I'm still testing this out, but if that's in any way right, when you're number is at the top of the hex, your password is at the base.

So, looking at the picture, Anna has 75 at the top, which would make "juvat" the rightside up word at the base...

Again, this is just speculation... and it does nothing to account for why those specific numbers are in each section of the hex.

Does this fire any synapses?

I'll tell you one thing I know I'm certain of, I have know Idea how tto figure this out. Cursing

Well, I got bored and wiki'd Skynet, and found a contrididiction:
Quote:
Cyberdyne Systems, as depicted in the first film, was a small manufacturing company of an undefined nature, but, by 1994, it had grown into a major defense contractor based on the recovered Terminator technology from 1984 and Dyson's research.

Notice it says it was strong in 1994 but the Dyson Trust states this:
Quote:
He took Cyberdyne in a bold new direction with his research and was on the verge of announcing a major breakthrough in the summer of 1991. Unfortunately tragedy struck when his home and laboratory were destroyed by an apparent terrorist attack and Dr. Miles Bennett Dyson was killed.

The movie came out in 1991, but the time line, if I am understanding this right, took place in 1994.

I took the liberty of making the Hex a little easier to see, by making it in the GIMP so I'll attach both the ROT and No ROT ones.

I'm greatly curious about the writing on the whiteboard behind anna... though she might not be too impressed if we start obsessing over her video now. Razz

She's obviously still worried about the future. That puzzle is bugging me. I supposed it's consistent that she tells us stop - if it is her login, she'll be protective of it.

And she named Somethingawful and Unfiction... Confused Question

Here's what I can make out from the whiteboard:
Quote:

H^2 / 8MT

MEDIUS NOMEN

Particle

E = 2c^2 / sqrt( v^2/c^2 -1 )

Check your PHYSICS equations more carefully mike!

m = m0 / sqrt(1 - v^2/c^2).

edit: not MENU=NUME but MEDIUS NOMEN

Question is, what do we do now? I liked obsessing over that picture.
