[SPOILERS]OMG! UF, I Saw it! It's alive! It's...Upside down?
I did actually see the movie SPOILERS AHEAD!!!

Ok so my mind is still reeling. I got lucky. I work at a theatre and tonight on my night off, I went to go see a movie. Well before I get into my movie, my manager says that Rob (our projectionist) is putting together the print and that they'd be playing it at some point. After some digging and attempted bribery they told me the movie would be in Theatre 10 and it'd start at 10:15. Talk about being in the right place at the right time. Movie didn't start til 10:40 cause Rob was having some problems, but eh. I SAW IT.

Now to why I said it was upside down in my topic. (and then I'll get to my spoilers) Before every movie right after the previews (Jumper, Something else, and Star Trek(?)) we have this little skit with Singing frogs. It's annoying as hell. Well when Rob put together the print, he accidentally put this part upside down and backwards. Picture a cgi frog in a suite with an old microphone and singing. It was great because the sound was messed up too and the people who were in the theatre with me were like "WTF?" And all you heard was rob yell down from the top row, "Oops! Um, I'll fix that tomorrow!"

So, Haha... love how it starts off on April 27th, the morning after Rob and Beth "do the deed" and then some eating strawberries. Then after a discussion of what to do that day (Coney Island) it switches to May 22nd with Hawk having no fucking clue how to work the damn camera and asking Lil what time the guests were gonna be arriving. And Lil telling him in the bodega to carry some bags. Cut to going up the stairs where Lil is telling him that she wants him to do the testimonials and all the camera wielding. He whines about it and pisses her off. Some other stuff happens that's not Memorable.

Cut to Seeing Hud putting up the sign. Hawk talks Hud into doing the Testimonials. (Lil later finds out and gets semi upset because she had told Hawk to do it.) Rob shows up. (tells Hud he wasn't surprised at all) Beth shows up later with some guy in tow. Somewhere in here, we see Jamie passed out on the couch. (I hope she fucking died on that couch.) Beth's in the middle of doing her testimonial and Rob says they need to talk. they go into the stairwell outside of the apartment. Hud tries to follow but Rob and Beth get pissed, and Lil drags them inside. Hud finds Hawk and tells him Lil knows something about what's going on. They corner her in the kitchen and she tells them she won't say it on camera and so hud points the camera down and says that Beth told her that she and rob had slept together. Lil tells them to tell NO ONE and Hud proceeds to tell everyone in the apartment. Beth comes back in tells her date she wants to go. As their leaving Rob comes back in and Beth says good luck in Japan. Rob shrugs her off and basically wishes Beth's date good luck, insinuating that he (beth's date) was going to get lucky.

Rob locks himself in his room, and then Hawk and Hud go to talk to him on the fire escape. Hawk calls Rob a douche bag. Brotherly love there, lol. the earth shakes and the power all over the city goes out. Starts to move a lot faster from here. they go inside, lights turn on, they see the news report, stairwell, roof, explosion, stairwell, street, statue of liberty's head, MGP, bodega scene. They come out of the bodega and see Marlena who seems disoriented and whispers something along the lines of "they were eating them" Lil takes her to the sidewalk, people start to break into stores. the crew decides they're going to get the hell out of there and head out to the Brooklyn bridge. Rob complains about no signal on the cell phones. They head to the Bridge and this is when Rob asks if Hud is Still filming. Hud says yes and that people are gonna want to know... how it all went down. Rob gets a call from beth as they're walking across the bridge. hud sees this and calls to Lil and Marlena to stop and they call for Hawk but hawk keeps getting pushed away. MGP's tail comes down on bridge effectively killing Hawk. (tough break dude)

They get off what remains of the bridge and stop by Sephora where Lil is having a breakdown and Hud doesn't know what to say to Rob to make him feel better.Robs phone dies. People are breaking into an electronics store across the street, Rob runs in looking for a cellphone battery. We see different news reports on all the tvs and are getting glimpses of the monster. rob listens to the message that Beth left him saying she can't move and she's stuck in her apartment. Rob says he needs to head to get beth. they try to stop him. he gives them the choice to leave and they don't. we see the driverless horse carriage. then the attack of the army against MGP and Rob, Lil, Marlena and Hud run into the subway after hiding by some cars. They wait a while at the platform, Rob gets a call from his mother, tells her that Hawk is dead. They decide to go through the tunnels. they walk and walk and walk. they turn the light on on the camera. Marlena gets freaked out by the rats. the keep walking, start hearing some strange noises Rob shows Hud how to use the nightvision, Hud sees the things that were falling off of MGP on the ceiling of the tunnel. tells them to run. they get attacked. Marlena get's bitten.they get away find like a break room for subway workers and Rob breaks a vending machine and gets water for Marlena to clean her wounds. She asks Hud how bad it is. He says it looks like it hurts. The whole die here, die in the tunnels line comes up. They leave through a different door which takes them to a platform and then they walk through some doors to a department store. Army finds them in the store. they get taken through some tents, you see a corpse of a guy... he was bitten. Rob and the army fight. Marlena says she's not feeling good and is crying bloody tears. All hell breaks loose with them screaming they have a bite and marlena getting dragged away and exploding and then Rob, Lil, and Hud being ushered away. One army official says he'll get them to the chopper and lets them go tell rob the last chopper leaves at 0600 hours.

They're in the streets and look up to see Beths apartment building being supported by the building next to it. Rob suggests they go through Beths building to see how fair they can get. Hud suggest that they go through the other building and go up. Rob thinks it's a good Idea and Hud chickens out and says it's a bad idea and he takes it back, but they go anyway.

They get to beth's apartment and find her pierced in the shoulder by a metal rod unconscious. She wakes up and realizes that she has a metal rod in her and gets upset. they all lift her up and off of the metal rod. (My stomach by this point was already queasy because of Hud's "excellent" camera skills. but with the sound it made when they lifted her off, I almost threw up right there. they sling her shoulder and see MGP and Beth askes what that is and someone says something really bad. they go back the way they came and encounter Little MGPs(or the things that came off of MGP) and rob kills it with an axe, Beth asks what that was, They say another really bad thing. (by this point logically Beth should actually be dead from shock.(this completely annoys me that someone who was impaled on a metal rod is actually running and NOT GOING INTO SHOCK.)) they make it back in time for the Helicopters, Lil gets put into one and that's the last you see of her, presumably she got to safety. Rob, Beth and Hud get into the next helicopter, and they see the air attack on MGP. and MGP gets hit and disappears in the smoke and hud thinks this is a good thing then MGP knocks the helicopter out of the air. down goes copper scene. they wake up in the wreckage. Hud and Beth(who is still NOT IN FUCKING SHOCK) pull Rob out from the wreckage and Hud ties off Rob's injury on his leg. He picks up the camera and then turns around and there is MGP in all his glory. MGP tries to eat Hud and spits him and the camera out. the camera lands on the grass next to hud, and tries to focus between him and the grass in front of him. Beth and rob pick up the camera and hide under the bridge. Cue robs speech. and then he has beth state her name. and then the bridge collapses. the camera freezes and then you get more footage from the day at coney island. their high up in the air on a ferris wheel and rob tells her there's not much longer left on the tape and tells beth to say something. She says she had fun... and then cut to credits.

And that people is how it's going to end when you go to see it in theatres on friday.

Pretty sure it was just Jumper, something else and Star Trek. but I could be wrong. the whole surprise of the upside down frog thing has kind of blocked the previews out in my mind.

At the screening I was at, there was a trailer for Jumper (awesome), a trailer for Wanted (bloody awesome) and a teaser "I ain't tellin' you nothin'" trailer from Star Trek with a really impressive Enterprise.

Well, he's definitely not doing as good a job as he did on Cloverfield - already photos have leaked of Spock and details of scenes have been released, lol.

OH NO not again?!!

I read some months back now, during the post production of cloverfield and from memory i believe it said "JJ is starting work, after star trek, on ANOTHER secretive project for paramount!!" I'm pretty sure they mentioned it was a thriller!
Who wants to take bets on Slusho, tagruato references in this one too?

Believe it or not, at my cinema (in Australia) there was actually an ad for the new season of Lost. No Star Trek trailer, though.
