MGP was scary as hell, and I don't get scared by monster movies. I'm so glad he didn't end up just being a giant dinosaur thing. His arms/legs freak me out

Almost every description given (and every drawing) were pretty far off from what I saw.

MGP is basically a giant frickin wingless bat (not that there's anything wrong with that).

All my earlier complaints about not liking the monster design have been blown away by what I saw...it was outstanding.

Oh...and the movie itself was pretty fkn good too. Very Happy

When I first saw MGP, I was taken aback as to how it didn't look anything like I'd expected it too, but at the same time I was amazed and impressed. It may bear similarities to other fictional creatures (Rancor, for instance) but I like how it's not just some giant dinosaur or mutated creature found on Earth.

Amazing. I was expecting sorta like a monster standing on its feet most of the time, but i liked the idea of being on all fours. Something new and different. The face was really weird/scary/awesome/badass/evil/ugly.
Which is good! At one point i thought it kinda looked like a dinosaur, but at the end i got a good look at it and i was satisfied.

MGP looks Censored ing awesome!
I like that it's still not exactly clear what this thing could be related to, but it's obviously not the usual bipedal dinosauresque beasty we've seen too many times already. You can compare parts of it with other beasts, but in so small chunks that it's very much an all new being as far as I'm concerned.

The gifs, drawing etc. don't do the monster justice. To see him moving between the buildings wreaking havoc even if just a tiny glimpse was thrilling. I can't wait to own this on dvd and slow mo his beastly self! Razz

The double articulation of the front legs is totally anti-natural.

I went to see the movie for a second time today just to see the monster again and it was totally worth it. Was really afraid I would be disappointed by it before the movie came out but the design really blew it away.

I'd say I liked the monster fine. Was disapointed that the audio we've been fed in the trailers and on the website were basically disinformation though... never once got the good roar from my recollection so that was disapointing.

Just wanted to see more of it, wanted to see more of it doing it's work, wanted to see more of NYC getting thrashed Smile

I was dissapointed with how frail the thing looked. With the thin frog skin and the spider-like arms. It was also running away from the millitary like a spanked toddler.

The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms is still the King of American Monsters. The movie was very cool though, which goes without saying. Wink
