I might be missing something, but when does this splash happen? Is it at the beginning? at the end?

Its at the VERY END of the film, the LAST scene. I assume as more and more people see the film it'll be confirmed, especially if everyone looks for it.

and by the time theres a quality cam or dvdrip, we should have some hard proof.

Maybe it's a fat guy diving in? I saw it monday and didn't notice anything either... but it sounds like you really need to be watching for it. I still think if it was something like that Rob or Beth or even a general crowd noise would be evident. Something just doesn't fall from the sky and not get noticed. Of course people don't just not notice a 40 story beastie standing behind them either... Razz

They are up in a ferris wheel thing at coney island, there is a shot of the ocean, there is a boat in the ocean on the right side of the screen, use this as a reference point. The camera moves over to beth, the boat is still in the shot. Slightly left to the boat, Way farther back, you see an object fall out of the sky and splash into the water.

It is the very last scene.
