[SPOILER] Somebody Translate the Slavic Man? The one in the film... Anyone remember when the Slavic dude came up to Hud and was trying to say something to him?
Maybe the Japanese an saw the monster come out of the ocean, or maybe he works for Tagruato/Tidowave?
I remember he said the same thing twice...
Like he was repeating what he said.
Anyone who speaks Slavic can translate him?

I'm pretty sure thats not Japanese. I wasn't paying a lot of attention because I was taking pictures. But, he wasn't speaking Japanese from what I heard.

I cant say for sure 100%, but the man in the alley wasn't speaking Japanese. in the credits there is a credit for "Russian Street Man" or something like that.

Are you talking about the man in the alleyway who stops Hud (or maybe Hud stops to listen to him, I couldn't tell)? I thought he was just in a panic and talking really fast.

It was definitely Russian. He is credited as Russian guy in the credits.

LOL @ russian...i know there was a credit I saw for "russian guy" at the end, but he defintly did looked asian so thats weird....He was probly just mumbling some crazy stuff to HUD about what he saw and encountered...he looked injured, bleeding from the head as well....I dont think we need to look at this as apart of the backstory, just a frightful man in the movie thats all.

Can we not put details like this in the titles of the threads? It may not seem important, but let's not imply things to people that haven't seen the film yet. There's enough confusion over inconsistencies between the viral campaign and the film itself (though I think they hardly ruin the film), let's not add more information to cloud people's minds before they go see the film.
Oh, and I was trying to figure out what he was speaking. Some sounded Russian, some more of a east Asian variety. Is there a language that might encompass both that I'm not aware of? Mongolian?

Mongolian and Russian belong to different language families.
My guess is the man hails from one of the CIS (former USSR) Asiatic
countries so he speaks Russian and is referred to as "Russian" just like all CIS expatriates are usually referred to in America irrespective of their specific origin. I have not seen the movie yet, but I' m gonna be expecting the scene and if there's something interesting there I will post here.

I agree. I am absolutely positive the guy was not speaking Japanese. It sounded Slavic and I even recognized a few words. (He was telling Hud to listen to him, mostly likely he was saying "Listen to me! You don't want to go that way!"). I guess we won't really know until we get a recording of it and then confirm once the DVD comes out (so we can watch the film with subtitles).

I think he said:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I saw it! It's a lion! It's Huge! J/K. Most likely it was indeed about not going that way, maybe even about the wee beasties
