Gee, way to turn one errant comment into an excuse to drive traffic away from UF and to your site. Frankly, it just looks a little transparent and rude. I'm all for having more forums to cater to my Cloverwhims, but this seems a little bit like walking into someone's party and telling them to go to yours instead.

Okay, maybe I'm being a bit harsh above. Just hit a nerve, I guess.

In all fairness, this viral campaign has been something a bit new and different for the pre-Cloverfield folks at uF. We Cloverfield fans are often a very different sort than those involved in the more traditional ARGs, and I'm sure it's been a culture shock. I think it's been hard for some of those old hands to see things from 'our eyes', but I stand before you here (figuratively) as an example of what I think is an attempt to rectify that apparent difference between the old and the new. This whole experience has in a way broadened the world of CF into some new territories, where the game is more visceral and less conventional.

I felt like I'd been a bit slapped with the rest of my fellow Cloverfield fans, but I didn't feel it was something that either side deserved. I've been trying to help make that bridge between all of us stronger, and it's not always fun - but I think it's worth it.

I don't see why another forum with fanart, fan fiction, and other such content isn't such a good companion to what we have here. Consider how CloverfieldClues.com has been a companion to this forum - it's been like our daily newspaper about our Cloverfield world (and thanks to Dennis for that). We've also had The Effect, where we've had our own parallel reality to the IG world and created a bridge for us between the real world of here and the universe that is Cloverfield. Why can't this be a case of extending our community instead of basically abandoning this one?

Oh, and from the rate of updates and the implications of the manga and recent pics on 1-18-08.com, there's a very good chance that this ain't over!

We should all be tickled pink that Cloverfield/1-18-08 spawned it's own Forum section with subsections! Not many ARGs have gotten that in a long time. This forum isn't going to be archived for a long time (probably still be ACTIVE long after the DVD comes out - cause you KNOW they'll probably hide some nice easter eggs on it - we can only dream).

Meanwhile, I'm proudly wearing my Slusho Tshirt this weekend.
