I loved the design, and it wasn't running from the military. Every time it was shot, it just got pissed and killed things. We didn't get to see it get near, say, the soldiers, but it crushed a tank on purpose, thats for sure.
Anyone, I loved the design, very unique. I'm happy to call it "America's Monster"

Wasn't running from the military? I remember three shots of it retreating while under the barrage of missiles. I think it stepped on that tank on accident, judging from how it's foot was facing, well, it sure wasn't a weakling if it was able to survive a nuke, but it did retreat from the military. Who knows, maybe it has killer regeneration powers.

Looked great, showed him just enough to freak you out. I liked not knowing where he was all the time because it created a frightening realism. He would just go away and BAM, show up again. Awesome! I just hope that if they make a sequel that they will show him at lengths in all his glory.

Can anyone tell me what MGP means? ARE? Or any of those abbreviations?
Is this website running super slow or is it just me?

That thing was freakin awesome! It was original, creapy, scary, and pitiful all at once.
When we left the theatre, it was scary going out into the city. Halifax is no New York, but the view when you step out from the theatre onto the street is eerily similar to the view on the street infront of Rob's apartment building.
And, just to note, the half-hour of partying at the beginning was just enough time to get used to the shaky camera style.

MGP = Mister Grumpy Pants, our affectionate nickname for the monster
ARE = Alternate Reality Experience, a loose term coined because there's not so much of a 'game' to this that I call an interactive viral campaign
Yes, the site is busy and getting fairly slow.
I don't see that MGP really changed his choice of direction significantly based on the assault by the military. I think he just responded with directed anger.

He didn't seem to get really agressive until he knocked the chopper out of the sky. Before then he seemed more confused/shocked by the millitary attack, trying to get away to collect his thoughts. Maybe the "post birthing ritual" was a tactic to distract the millitary to give him a breather.

MGP looked like one creepy bastige. Him and his little buddies made it hard to walk in my house at night.
Even my wife found the movie entertaining, and she doesn't do monster movies.
Overall, can't wait to see it again.

I think Clover looked incredibly amazing, shocking, and awe-inspiring. It was lanky yet not in a goofy way.. it really truly was great.
The entire movie was awesome and I can't wait to see it again.

Don't know if your question was answered but ARG=Alternate Reality Game. I wouldn't consider Cloverfield an ARG, but then again, I'm no expert.
PWNED:
A corruption of the word "Owned." This originated in an online game called Warcraft, where a map designer misspelled "owned." When the computer beat a player, it was supposed to say, so-and-so "has been owned."
Instead, it said, so-and-so "has been pwned."
It basically means "to own" or to be dominated by an opponent or situation, especially by some god-like or computer-like force.
"Man, I rock at my job, but I still got a bad evaluation. I was pwned."
OR
"That team totally pwned us."

On to the topic at hand, I was fairly impressed with the monster. I hate the name MGP. The parasites were eh. The last one encountered, after they save Beth, was clearly rushed, it looked extremely fake, and it kind of took me out of the movie for a moment, but overall I was impressed and loved the movie.

Scared the piss outta me. I've totally seen that monster before, or something that REALLY reminds me of it.
Those little bastards scared the piss outta me too.

I think MGP was awesome
I was really worried the monster wouldn't be as good as i hoped
but he really was
and i liked the way he moved too
The only scene I found a bit weird with the monster was the part where
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
HUD gets eaten
but I suppose technically from that point of view...it might look a bit weird
