The only link with Myth is that one of the Cortana mails (which tied Marathon the Halo) was found on the Myth v1.3 disc.

Actually, in the Cortana Letters section of the Marathon's Story site, you'll find this snippet:

Matt [Soell] also had this to say about plot connections in Bungie's games:

" ...things are often more related than they may first appear. For example, there's no obvious similarity or connection between the Marathon world and the Myth one....

...but then there's the Great Devoid."

The Great Devoid was the big hole in the ground at the end of Myth:TFL.

How did it get there?

Since we're swinging our Bungie-knowledge dicks around.

Troy, the rampant AI was at the end of the second level of Oni. I believe it was called a Deadly Brain, and Shinatama specifically says it's gone rampant. It branches out to the internet, throwing copies of itself all over cyberspace, and it demands feet (a way to move around in the physical world)).

PS. Of course, my main point still stands Smile

PPS. At least this AI isn't posting sketchy pictures of itself everywhere.

No problem. It's a level I wish I could forget. Very Happy

And yes, your point about staying away from the other games, unless something specific to them is mentioned, is a good one. I'm just being impossibly pedantic.
