This is just losing it's charm for me. I'll take kona's avocados, even though I never saw anyone offer her any.

Wolfy, remember, I'm Australian. "Mongrels" isn't considered a "bad" word to call someone here, it's sort of the equivalent of "Oh, you guys!"
One of our great (and, sadly, late) comedians was famous for using it. Maurie Fields started almost every single one of his jokes with "There's this poor mongrel sitting in the pub..." or some variant. It's no more offensive than calling someone a "doofus" I guess.

Mind you, here in Australia we also have the phrase "Half a mongrel" (as in, "to have...") which has a completely different meaning. A meaning that only half the worlds population could really understand. Ahem. You know those mornings when you wake up and you....notice you must have been having a pretty good dream just beforehand??
I think that's all I'll say about that.

I really wasn't offended by mongrel, sorry if you took it that way, as for those mornings, I really don't know what you're talking about, Wink , we girls don't have that problem. Shocked

Hey Space--

Can you set the default "log me on automatically each visit" to be unchecked? That way, those of us on a public computer aren't running the risk of a hijacked account in case we forget to uncheck it.

I've taken it off and added a warning at the post dialog instead, to let you know if you've forgotten to login.

Changelist updated.

View posts by... search dropdown

As promised to shadowfyr55 on the CM list, I've modified the dropdown search box a bit on the index and category view pages. Now, when viewing a single category, such as the Haunted Apiary, the drop down will switch to display the last X amount of posts from only that category. I've also added a checkbox next to it that will reverse the sort order, so that you may read the posts in order of time posted from top to bottom instead of newest to oldest, which is the default (when the box is unchecked). In the interest of saving space, I added a popup tooltip to the checkbox when hovering your cursor over it to remind you what it does in case you forget.

Now I just need Wishi to help me figure out how to add similar functionality to the forum view as well as the index and category view. Very Happy

Okay, I think you guys are going to LOVE this new mod, suggested in chat by catherwood last night and implemented today by the indomitable Wishi-san. When you click a category header, you now have the option on the upper right to "View posts in this category since last visit." Click that to get your normal list of new posts as on the index page, but restricted to just the category you are viewing.

minor math problem with number of new posts

It works well within a category, but not so much from the main page. I think the math is (maths are) wrong. It is retrieving the correct posts, but reporting a multiple of that number, then calculating the number of pages that would cover (based on 50 posts per page). For example, I had 79 unread posts, but it said there were something like 315 (i forget the exact number) posts on 7 pages to be read. When i got to the 2nd page, it listed only the 29 (79 minus 50 from the first page) remaining, and clicking on pages 3 thru 7 had no list of posts.

I'm sure it's a minor thing to fix. I'm boring you all here only because I didn't see Wishi-san online or in chat. Thank you.

I hear ya. Am investigating now! Something I couldn't test on the test boards. Not too sure why yet but it'll be solved.
