[SPOILERS] Confirmation of Sequel on "The N" Network? Some people claim to have seen commercials which imply a sequel. From IMDB: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1060277/board/nest/95303762
I've heard about this multiple times. Can anyone confirm this? This would be amazing!!!

Pretty much its a regular episode of degrassi and then the screen starts to screw up, like watching a bad VHS tape and then down in the corner it said something like
"Can you see this?
I need help.
If you can see this, come help me.
I'm still alive.
But it is still alive too."
and then on the next comercial break there was a comercial for a television show on the n and then the screen went all snowy again and kept cutting in between this comercial and the screenshot of rob holding the camera... then it went right into the cloverfeild trailer, still kind of messed up, and then when that was done, it went back to the end of the n comercial.

That'd be amazing to confirm a sequel and the first movie has only been out for two days.

I would love to believe this.
But I'm about ready to call shenanigans on this.

I understand this topic could either be the best or worst place to use my first post, but this raises quite a few questions. And I fear I may begin to write an essay.
First, the fact that it is so soon after the release means that either, a) it was rushed, or b) this was thought up before the movie came out. B is doubtful as it didn't show that it would be as sure a hit as it has been with it's 16.25 mil opening. And as for a, since I haven't seen it I can't comment on how quickly it could have been planned out or created.
Second, network choice. The N does not seem like the network of choice for something like this. MTV or Discovery or some popular channel would probably yield the most views BUT, they would be less open to a rush ad placement like this if a above is true. The N being a smaller network is more likely for this rush to be possible.
Third, the veracity of the claims needs to be investigated a little more before we draw conclusions. In a ARG like this just dusting something off as BS would be a very hasty and unscientific approach. Someone(wish I had the N network) needs to record it with VHS or DVD and watch for this commercial again. As some of my online friends say, "screenshot or it didn't happen." JJ(if he had a part in it, which he most likely did) must have known that the N network would be small and not viewed by many playing, but, if it was noticed by us he would know that there was quite a large following (statistically). Hopefully he would realize this and the ad would be played more than once in order to allow us to get ready to record it. If not, perhaps he is hoping that some follow and some do not perhaps slowing us a bit since to me it seems like we had progressed very fast through earlier bits of the game.
Fourth, I wonder if the fact that we discovered the It's still alive soundbite effected when this ad went in place. If it had taken us a week or so I wonder if the ad would have been delayed.
Fifth, I don't know if this "confirms" a sequel as much as begins to test the waters for it. This may be the beginning of the game shifting towards finding out how much interest there still is in the game after the movie dies down in the next week or two. I hope that the game also begins to take the shape of many news reports from around the world about the attack on NYC. This is, of course, if we are to assume that it is May IG.
I really hope this is not a reach out for attention in the online community as it really is just a distraction wasting peoples time. However, as a fan it is difficult to take this with a grain of salt for the hope of a sequel (or prequel, which I hope for more).

1) what did he do air mail the tape out of the debris to the army or news stations?
and 2) i cant really see it cutting in and out of other commercials, those spots are paid for and i wouldnt appreciate it if my cohesive advertisement was being cut up by another and making it incoherent, it would be damn cool and i wish more stuff like that would happen, but i just cant see it happening
but then again, i am pretty stupid

He did say that it was a commercial for an N show which would mean that the N would be able to interrupt it no problem.

I don't think we need any more confirmation than this that this interuption/intermission happened. people who aren't even aware of Cloverfield's ARG have seen it.

ps- the answer at the bottom is me asking for some kind of clip of this from anyone of them, who actually happened to Tivo it.
Edited to linkify forum stretching link. - E

The thing that makes me doubt this more and more is that Dora the Explorer thread, which is either a joke playing off this or true and that is what either inspired or fooled someone into doing this.

it was in fact on Degrassi. don't think they would show something like that on Dora. plus wtf that watched Cloverfield is watching Dora lol. a possibility of Cloverfield fans watching Degrassi i guess is high or so so. iunno i don't watch it so i dont know.

I can confirm this guys. Saw it when I was watching Degrassi. (I actually hate the show, I was watching it cause nothing else was on. Lucky me.) It said something like what the people are describing, but I don't remember exactly what it said. I was like "Wtf is this?" at first and then once I realized it was for Cloverfield I was like "Oh shit!"
And sorry I didn't post this earlier. I'm staying in a hotel room and the internet is fucked up. I can only get like 2 posts on here within an hour. It's frustrating and very slow.
