I'd like to point out that the following excerpt, which I take to be part of the Operator's inner monologue once it's started to knit itself back together and is becoming slightly more coherent, sounds terribly Cortana-like. If you haven't come into contact with Cortana (and other rampant Bungie A.I.) personalities, I'd recommend you at least read through the Cortana Letters (Bungie's "guerrilla marketing" campaign for Halo 1) found here: http://marathon.bungie.org/story/cortana.html

"But it's a start it's a start. Watch out, killer: now the odds are closer to even.

One thing you ought to know about me: I like to play, I like to win, and I'm"

Can't edit my post above, but to clarify, I meant the "I like to play, I like to win, and I'm"" bit sounds like Cortana and possibly Durandal.

Also, the SPNKR was indeed the rocket launcher throughout the history of Bungie games. It's even got that designation in the Halo 2 E3 demo videos.

Anyway, this is a hell of a community. Very few idiots, and an actual purpose.

See that little link up in the top right-hand corner of your screen? The one that says "Register"? Mr. Green

If you read this far in this thread you probably know, but there's a quick and dirty summary of the update thus far on the Wiki: http://bees.netninja.com/wiki/index.php?title=Rough_Summary_of_Jul_27_Update

Taking a Stab...

Let's see if i can put what I'VE learned so far regarding Phase 2 into one coherent thought (which i now post for the benefit of others and myself)

Dana is wigging out. She realized that she is being watched through her webcam (killer.jpg and its variants) and wants out. Rightfully so. The Operator hates Dana, and expresses her rage at the inability to attack her through her home. We start to notice the mention of this Assassin, though i am not certain whether this is Dana or not.

The Operator/Queen (who i believe to be one and the same) hav regained the ability to think in more "normal" terms. She seems initially possed at Spider, for every time she probes the still immobile Queen, the Queen involuntarily recalls portions of its memory banks- which is the snippets of military conversation, and other miscellany are. The Operator hates our primitive network, she can't seem to stretch out sufficiently. Too bad for her.

Now on to more speculative matters. (Halo connections, etc.)

I belive The Operator is Melissa, the computer AI used to decrypt the Covenant's communications. Her only objectives are:

to keep her ship (The Circumference?) alive (Survive)
Avoid detection by the Covenant (Evade)
Keep the secret of the decrypted communications from being discovered (Resist)
And Currently, get out of I Love Bees (Escape, the one thing she cannot seem to do)

Lord help me if I can figure out where Reveal (the alternative to Resist) fits.

When they tried to erase Melissa's memory banks to prevent the classified secret from getting out, She fought back and protected some of it. It then Somehow(?) got back in time into Dana's website.

That's all I've got, that's in semi-coherent form, that is.

Trout me if you want, but I seem to recall one of the AIs mentioning how they have been fed with trout. I think we're being watched.

If anyone would be so kind as to suppliment this post with links to evidence- I lost power midway though this post, and also lost my links. Heh Heh.

I'm sure this must be trout by now, but, of the many things I've noticed, I've noticed this text from the killer.jpgs:
Quote:
I was looking at your site a little awry
and have found an innocent bystander.
Can you(?)

Has anyone looked for and/or found an innocent bystander? If not, I think it may be a good idea to get searchin'. We could start by looking at the site awry.

One kind of hidden image technique (most of you probably know about this) works by stretching an image so much that it becomes completely unrecognizable unless looked at at a very sharp angle, which forshortens everything enough for the eye to be able discern the lines and objects and, thus, see the image. This is very much like looking at it awry. The images at ilovebees get stretched and resized a lot, and some of them certainly get extremely stretched. Maybe one of these is actually a picture of an innocent bystander.

Reveal is easy. What did you say she was used for?

Still doesn't prove anything, but definently a possibility.

Theory of the Links

A theory about the links that may have already been posted, but none the less:

If u look up all the sites in the first section, they all appear to be about FLOODS or flood related events.

http://www.pcug.org.au/~rmeurone/mtb/polaris/2003/photos/photos-Pages/Image2.html

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/south_asia/3907907.stm

In the second group, all links lead to sites that talk about "Facing the Enemy."

http://www.alternet.org/waroniraq/19190/
http://www.commondreams.org/views01/1016-07.htm

http://www.geocities.com/kk_abacus/ioaa/facing.html
http://www.maiken2051.com/gallery/cel.php?id=20&gid=7&page=1

In the third group, all links deal with sites or articles talking about different groups "Turning their backs".

http://www.punchstock.com/stock_photography/itstock/6668069/image_ITF069074.html
http://unisci.com/stories/20022/0617026.htm

If Bungie is using the ilovebees.com website to subtly release game information on Halo 2, i believe that these links are used to symbolize the storyline of the game. There are 21 links, which may represent 21 different levels, the first 7 dealing with the flood, the next 7 "facing the enemy"(possibly meaning bringing the attack to the Covenant), and the last 7 , "turning their backs", refering to a defensive position or maybe a traitorous act.

Whether this is some kind of elaborate hoax or an advertisment by Bungie, it doesnt matter to me. It's been enough fun just attempting to decode it that it'll worth the time, relentless of the outcome.

Trout Discussed in this thread, solution posted in the Wiki. Why do so many people -- especially "Guests" -- seem to be allergic to the Search function?

Great find. I've been trying to decipher what the sites meant myself.

What is a petajoule, I'm sure it's been brought up that it says that
Quote:
Spider crawling over me with her thin hairy legs and every few instants she sticks a needle into some synapse and stuff spews out of me: the petajoule
So what does a petajoule have to do with anything???

Google says that a petajoule is 1015 joules (a measurement of energy, for those who don't already know.)
Here's the link.
