[Spec] [Spoilers]Movie anaylisis: easter eggs/clues Discussion about seemingly hidden things in Cloverfield I've only seen the movie once so far, but the entire time I was I keeping my eyes peeled for little things that could be clues/easter eggs (besides the Slusho shirt and Tag logo on the tanker) like graffiti, posters, conversations, etc. It was great seeing the object fall into the water at the end, but I wonder if anyone saw or heard anything else that seemed almost like it was a hidden clue?
Edit: I'm also not talking about the ending credit whisper. I mean anything that hasn't been discussed a lot yet (if at all).

I'm wondering about the order of the songs played at the party. There was a CD given to people attending the party in NY and a few I remember from the movie. I think the track numbers and the order in the movie may be a clue. This is WAY out there though.

That is a little far out there, but you never know. I remember seeing a poster (maybe for a band?) that seemed kind of prominetly featured during the party scene (I think it was when Beth pulled Rob away to talk to him.)
Rob also leaned up on an eye catching piece of graffiti during the scene where he realizes that his phone is dead, right before he runs into the electronics store.
I also think that it was interesting how Hud was speculating on the monster's origins during the subway scene. If I remember correctly, he seemed to be getting it pretty close to information released through the ARG (although he was saying something about the Marianas Trench).

Maybe not THAT deep, but it makes sense that the film makers might put something in that would be kind of hard to decipher, just because they know how closely the fan boys scrutinize everything. Who knows, there could be hidden insults saying something like "ha ha, you have no life."
But that's probably just my paranoid "the worlds out to get me" outlook interfering with my ability to be rational

There is a poster of The Beast from 20K Fathoms and I think 2 other monster movies in the apartment. ( I think King Kong and one more, maybe a godzilla flick )

Mmm...A nod to fan boys? That's a possibility if the posters were espesially hard to notice. Of course, they could Just be a reference to some of the movie's inspirations.
If that is there, then there may be more...

The old monster movies are credited, and I believe the CD tracks which are the exact same ones and order from the Facebook playlist on Cloverfield's page did actually play in that order in the film.
Am I the only one that noticed that there's more than one of those Japanese banners on the wall with the wave ala the TIDOwave Tagruato hack?

Did they have writing on them that was legible? Maybe it could be translated.

New york graffiti?
EDIT: I'd like to know if the picture frames with nothing in the mean anything...when i saw them it looked as if they progressively got more crooked as they went along...eg. first was normal, second was a lil crooked, third was more etc.

Probably, but there seemed to be a lot of stuff in the background throughout this movie that seemed really interesting. And yes, a lot of graffiti.

It was filmed in an apartment that most likely had graffiti strewn all over the place. Like most apartments in New York,
