[QUESTION] Advice for Dana

Ok, this might be pointless after her statement in her Blog.

However, should we advise her on a course of action?

Will attempting to follow through on her plans to go to China give Melissa a chance to get back at her, by screwing with flight records, or something else potentially nasty?

Or, is wandering in a country with minimal net exposure the best thing for her at the moment?

Is there any way for her to communicate an appology to Melissa?

What do people think? At the moment there's less than 2 days before she leaves for China, and possibly for good.

Honestly...xnbomb had it right. We just need to let it run its course for now. The only hostility we've seen was due to Dana's probing. The Queen didn't understand why she was doing it, nor did Dana understand what the Queen was doing there. If she really really wanted to, she should stop trying to fix it and maybe send an email to ladybee777 in order to get the Queen to stop acting so evilly? Am I making sense?

Except that we don't think the Queen is the one monitoring e-mail to ladybee777. There seems to be a split of opinion as to whether it's the Sleeping Princess or the Pious Flea -- I'm leaning towards Sleeping Princess, myself -- but e-mail doesn't seem to be a way to contact the Queen. (Good thing, too, or she'd probably want to kill all of us...)

That's the sort of thing I'm talking about. Is this something Dana would naturally do? We should encourage her to take this action, shouldn't we?

What ways could she possibly use to contact the Queen? Hook her web cam back up and write a note? I'm sure she'd be thrilled to do that. Post something in her blog? It's working on getting all information on her that it can. Seems natural that it would find her blog.

Of course the fact that she updates Tuesday and Friday, and is leaving on a Thursday may have been planned from the beginning....

i think we definitely should advise Dana, Melisa views her as a threat because of all the formatting and probing and is in survival mode. as the Spider repairs her she will be able to get off the "abaccus" and become a greater threat to Dana.

Does Dana have a microphone attached to her PC? She could try talking to it. Playing some music, some old jazz maybe something it might recognise that will help trigger memories.

Not entirely sure why, but I had the impression that the castaway will not prove to be the good person that Melissa thought he was.

Lets also keep in mind that he was a sailor with Odysseus. The Greeks used infiltration to sack Troy.

So playing music to remind Melissa of this person might not be a good idea.

has anyone tried to ask Dana some of our more recent questions, like what "Tsi Tian" means, more details re: her trip to china, has she talked with/seen margaret recently, has anything weird happened with margaret/the computer before the entity showed up (in other words- do we have any idea where the AI came from?), etc etc?

I know this is an older thread, but I still agree with the thoughts going on in it. I believe that Dana holds a key to this puzzle in general that we need to help her turn. There has to be a way to contact Melissa, safely, and explain to her that we're here to help. Help with what, we're not sure.

You know, I wonder if the PMs have this all more amorphic than we realize. Perhaps the game changes based on our choices, or failures to make them. They've obviously got the power to do it, so it's a thought. Maybe we need to help Dana more, and make it easier for her to respond to us as a team. Check my (first!) post on General about Servants, and seriously give this some thought.
